"The Premier League WILL be completed"

Some people will believe anything!
I'll believe it when it happens...........
and even then.......
the records will always have an "*" on 2019-2020* ...
meaning "in the time of the corona virus" ...
which translates to
"not worth a FAAACK"

Tainted title is still more than 0 in living memory though, so...

Go ahead, make my day

I don't want it to be completed, cos we're doing poor and Liverpool are going to win it, but it should really be completed.

No sense compromising a season already underway for one that hasn't started and therefore doesn't really exist.

The thing is no-one knows how long this will last, if it does go on for months then they might have no other option.

Embarrassing

I hope the season will be completed (eventually). Kane and Son will be back, thus giving Jose no excuses for losing all remaining games. He'll then get the sack and we can take a new modern manager into the new season.

will be curious as to how it plays out

cdc just said be prepared for this to run for 12-18 months so even summer could be out of the question.

but assuming it does take place in June/July then when does new season start? October?

how do you then fit in euro21 in summer 21?

the title isn't won though, its extremely likely, like 99.9% likely but it isn't won.

The season is done. Of course the PL want the season to finish, but there's just no possibility of that happening unless next season is cancelled.

Be shocked if they dont find 14 teams to agree to that so a bit of a moot point
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well the 6 club fighting relegation aren't voting in favour, so you got to convince Man City to vote in favour

Think Arsenal, Spurs, City would all happily void the season, plus the relegation teams.

Liverpool are the anomaly in all of this. They’re the one team whose position was finalised before the suspension of the season.

Given that it’s now likely to be completed, it’s going to be one hell of a celebration. Overcoming 30 years of pain, 19 other clubs and a global pandemic.

That’s the stuff of movies

That's 7 teams though. Surely the default position will be to pickup the league again and then you'd need 14 to agree to void it

It was. Unless you think the team with the greatest points haul on the continent were somehow going to flip to having the worst.

No offence - but you’d have to be an idiot to think that.

I think he was referring to 4 defeats in 5 including 2 drubbings by the No. 6 team in laliga

I do wonder why conversations about not completing the european football calender seems to only irk liverpool fans. PSG are on the verge of an amazing season if they see CL through, as are City if they win 3 trophies

Lots of teams who can potentially better liverpool will be affected as will the teams facing relegation or european qualification.

This affects everyone and the solution will be based on what the rules say, what's fair and can be agreed by the voting clubs and more IMPORTANTLY HOW THE TV COMPANIES CAN EITHER RECOUP THEIR INVESTMENT OR BE COMPENSATED IN THE EVENT OF THIS PANDEMIC PERSISTING.

Very unlikely any football will be played in the next 2 months at least which leaves June realistically as the month to allow players time to regain fitness and proceed with football.

hopefully if all goes well then June and July can see us complete the football calender and possibly start next season in September or October.

If this virus prevents football from taking place beyond the summer period when Euro 2020 was scheduled to take place then forget this season being completed.

No way will football authorities impact on sponsorship deals for next season including the clubs themselves.

Even football behind closed doors at the height of the pandemic will not work. logistically that would mean players and staff from each team need to be cleared before each football match. A nightmare in itself. How do you control players training together and going home to other family members who maybe infected?
