People who don't get the Branson hate either have no problem with billionaire tax avoidance and those who want to destroy a health service for their own profit or are simply ignorant of them.
A lot like with B Johnson, these people clearly have trouble looking at actions and can only see the appearance and little beyond that.

Nothing wrong with being pragmatic enough to realise that every single businessman will jump at the chance to use the current situation as leverage to extort the public purse into propping up their businesses.
Nothing wrong with being pragmatic enough to realise that a lot of these businesses will still have to be bailed out despite using every trick in their book to enhance their tax exile status, since they still keep their investments and employees in the UK.
I think the issue was he was reported asking his staff to take unpaid leave, where he is a billionaire and he could easily pay them.
He isn't obliged to do so but I think the fact he makes insane sums through franchising his brand, with usually a small ownership %, I think it is a bit cheeky to ask for a bail out.
One of the owners of BAs parent company said they would use their 900 million reserves and not ask for help.
P.'s I'm waiting to hear what Face and Murdock think before I make a solid decision though

What is your issue with Richard Branson?
I have met the guy and dealt with him when he was hands on trying to break the monopoly of BA and their Atlantic route.
He came across as genuine and a like-able guy.
Maybe I have missed something and he has become asince then.

Maybe do a bit of research and try and understand just why that doesn’t exactly mean his intentions are good.
Obviously this would take a major round of specialist policy but to me it makes no sense to keep bailing out business for who knows how long.
Facilitating a pause on business while bailing out individuals whose jobs are on hold makes more sense

The issue being that Branson might not be this massive villain the OP has made him out to be?
Not much to add to that.
I agree that the Govt needs to make sure that bailout money goes where it is intended.
The Dems in the USA made sure that very thing was covered in the latest of three stimulus bills just past.
