Wasn’t alive when we last won it.

you need to clarify whether you are including those who have seen it on betamax

I have started watching in 82

All joking apart, it is great when you see your team win the league, I was 11 when I saw Spurs win the league for the first time. Unfortunately it was the last time for me.

Make the most of it fellas, you never know if it will be the last.

I was 11 when we won the last one and still remember some of the previous ones in the 80's.

I've seen them all since 73 (was alive for 64 and 66 but too young to remember) but never seen them win it at Anfield. Been on the season ticket waiting list since 1993 - only 17 thousand in front of me now!! Were you at WHL in 61 Sandy? I bet that was a good day.

posted on 21/6/20

Yes, I was 10.

I seem to remember losing the 89 title to Arsenal more though.

I remember that 64 side, excellent team with Lawrence in goal, Lawler and Byrne I think full backs. Callaghan on the wing. St John up front.

Yes mate, I was at WHL on a Wednesday evening in 1961 as an 11 year old when Spurs beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1, Bobby Smith scoring the winning goal, after Spurs came back from 1-0 down. I went to lots of the games that season.

Oh I forgot to say Roger Hunt up front as well.

Yes I remember the CANDY sponsorship days aka Championships are now delivered yearly, painful times and now Liverpool Champions, Leeds probably promoted and Covid 19, a true disastrous hatrick not even got to Brexit yet.

Ha ha Sandy. I was about to pick you up on Hunt. What a great player - unlucky to not play in the WC final in 66

I remember the 88 more because of the great football we played and Barnes was one of my favourite players. Such a wonderful player.

It won’t be the first time for me. Brought up on a diet of Shanks, Paisley and latterly Kenny, it was de regeur to win the first Div as it was then. I couldn’t have believe I’d have to wait thirty years, with ManU continually dragging us in then overtaking us under SAF before we’d get the title. Full marks to them though, they deserved it.

With the near certainty - we are LFC after all - of winning the PL for the first time, it’s actually becoming increasingly insignificant. I’m not taking anything away from the team, the squad, the manager or the club, it will be a fantastic achievement, but for me, the nano-second we’ve won it, it will be time to move on, plan for next season, and get stuck in again, like there’s no tomorrow.

Just, it has to be said, like ManU did once SAF won his first trophy

I have seen us win it a few times but obviously was never in the stadium

I’ve seen us win the league several times but I’ve only attended the game that clinched it once and that wasn’t actually at Anfield, it was Stamford Bridge in 86.

No need to be nasty. Fortunately most of your supporters seem to be engaging in proper good football chat. You seem intent on being rude.

I was 3 in 90 so cant remember it at all. My dad was at the last game of the 90 season and always tells the story walking away with his 2 mates thinking it was no big thing and "we will win it again next season". Here we are 30 years later.

As you say i will enjoy as who knows if it will be another 30. Im just delighted its happening as it was looking more and more likely pre klopp that it would never come.

I say last game. I mean the qpr game where they clinched the title.
