The second wave this winter will possibly be worse than the first wave. Going to be one helluva scary year.

An interesting article.

Remainers obviously far more intelligent and listen to the facts and supporting evidence.

I can think of anything worse than being in some gammon infested Covid 19 incubator (or Wetherspoons to give them their official name) this weekend. 😷

Yes I’m starting to think that too, look at what’s happening in America right now, they are recording recorded numbers of new infections because the Trump administration refused to take it seriously.

We’ve taken it slightly more seriously but not much.

Localized lockdown's were an (eventual) inevitability even before the nationwide one was, even Germany and South Korea (the widely considered poster countries on how to approach this pandemic) have had to implement the exact same measures.

It would be nonsensical to lockdown a place like say Southend whom last i checked were averaging about 1 new case per week for something happening over 100 miles away.

Yup, your average Brexiteer is a bit of a doughnut in my opinion. They haven`t really thought through the consequencies of their actions, and with an extreme Right Wing Government at the helm, the country is on a very slippery slope to nowhere right now.

But at least we will be able to eat fish seven days a week.

And what’s to stop the people of Leicester going to the next town up (or down) for shopping, pubs or whatever?

The whole thing is nonsensical.

Southend should be locked down fullstop.

Winter is going to be horrific.

"And what’s to stop the people of Leicester going to the next town up (or down) for shopping, pubs or whatever?"

But there has to be a balance between dealing with this virus and the economy. A full UK wide lockdown indefinitely would turn us into a 3rd world country.

People like to get outraged and claim it's prioritizing "wealth over health" but without money, how can we arm the NHS with resources to fight this virus, potential future waves of this virus and any future pandemic's? These machines that have saved and will continue to save many lives don't grow on trees.

Locking down any flare up areas and letting the places that are averaging single figure cases a week at most (which are many more areas than people assume/think) get on with is the only sustainable way forward.

Well good luck trying to lockdown a city. Just watching Matt Hancock on Sky News droning on about “recommendations” none of which a remotely enforceable.

RTE aired a fly on the wall documentary last night from inside St. James hospital Dublin, at the height of the emergency. It was heartbreaking. Maybe it's available on their player. Gave a real insight to the patients and staff.

Also watched a report on CCN direct from a hospital where they showed doctors removing and replacing a blood and gunk encrusted breathing tube on a patient.

A stark reminder that you really don’t want to catch this horrific disease.

This saving the economy arguement is nonsense. As the states are seeing if you don't take the virus seriously it will just keep coming back and you will have to lockdown again.

To save the economy you need to do what Italy or Germany have done, take the lockdown seriously and contain it to a low enough level before reopening.

It's so inevitable that in a couple of months we will be following the same pattern as the US. And when the weather turns things will likely get worse.

I feel so sorry for the doctors and nurses who will have to deal with this shiiit for a very long time.

Sandy I agree.with you completely , I give it a month till were all back on lockdown.

The scary thing about it all is we know that where all facked till a cure is found if ever, Boris and the raving monster Looney party won't admit this but it's the truth.

I don't know if you're aware but they are now saying that a runny nose, diarrhea are new symptoms of Covid 19 .

The report on CNN showed a doctor who has worked 100 days straight dealing with Covid 19 patients and said the number of admissions keep rising.

The scary thing will be in the winter when people have cold symptoms from just a normal winter cold - how will people know straight away if they have covid or a cold? That uncertainty will lead people having to stay off work and panic setting in. Add that to a flu season on top of the Covid cases and it could be Armageddon in hospitals and workplaces

When I can walk in a pub, order drinks from the bar then either sit or stand with who I want to for as long as I want to - Then the pubs will have reopened imo.

Until then we'll be having the 'Weekend Social' either in the garden or under the car port.

They need to be more clear with this symptom stuff imo , say you have a runny nose and diarrhea but don't have a fever and feel fine bar slippery pants , is that a case of Covid 19 or a dodgy take away and hey fever ?
