He's a good commentator, ITV shouldn't of let BT Sport have the rights to the Champions league in my opinion.
I was thinking of making an article about this. A lot of people don't like Tyldesley but I guess that's the life of a commentator.
One of my favourites personally: the voice of the Champions League and especially our 99 and 08 successes.

He's a United fan.

I never found him biased tbh. In 2005 I preferred to listen to him than SkySports. Rather listen to him than Martin Tyler emotionless commentary for Liverpool.

Like all commentators and pundits, he's biased in favour of the teams the person watching doesn't like.
Was it vs USA in 2010 when he said "this will be fun" after England scored early on?
He was right. It was fun.
Good commentator. Provided the narration for many great sporting memories.

He was the voice I heard as a youngster commentating on Liverpool games for Radio City for over a decade, during the late 70s early 80s.
Tyldesley is my favourite commentator for obvious nostalgic reasons.
Not as if ITV have many games anymore though

I think Barry Davies was superior to Motson from that era.

i was at a conference at that swanky hotel near marylebone station a few years ago - the landmark i think - and we were in the bar. at c. 10pm. in walks johm motson, who proceeds to sit at a table on his own, and talk to himself on and off for the next 2 hours.
and not talk to himself as in "ooh, yes, lovely pint that", but as in alcoholic sleeping rough talking to himself. it was a very sad sight, and this was maybe a decade ago, so when he was very much the lead commentator for the bbc.

Feel quite sorry for him to be honest.
It's what happens, channels need to freshen things up now and then. Tyldesley has no god given right to continue being ITV's main commentator. Personally I find him and Tyler on Sky a little annoying however iconinc their voices may be and I quite like it when newer commentators work their way up.
