The news is saying that there was a big storage shed of Nitrate at the same place.

This is similar to one that happened near Waco in Texas about six or seven years ago.

My lebonese flat mate said that the there was a store of confiscated illegal chemicals from 2016. being stored there. Something went wrong and caused it all to explode.

This makes sense given the live feed before the explosion.

This appears to be a horrific yet preventable accident

Know nothing about how they make fireworks , wonder if they had a huge vat of gunpowder in there
