Most Covid deaths in Europe - no-one resigned

Care staff wearing bin bags as PPE - no-one resigned

“Eye test” during lockdown - no-one resigned

App failed - no-one resigned

Saved Tory donor £40m - no-one resigned

Wrecked future for 1000s of A level students - no-one resigned

If people get the Government they deserve Britain is full of ŵankers.

It is.

Yeah bar the last line. His twitter is great.

His Twitter is great, although the other day he jumped on a bandwagon that was based on an incorrect quote.

I intentionally follow people from both sides of the debate, as well as the middle, to try to ensure a well rounded view.

Otherwise it's just an echo chamber that has no real link to society.

What's interesting is the increase in cases isn't translating into an increase in hospital admissions or deaths.
__________

I've been thinking the same. I really don't know why this is but don't want to read too much into it at the moment.

CONCERNS have been raised over pupils returning to schools in Scotland without self-isolating after holidays abroad.

Jason Leitch, the Scottish Government's national clinical director, said "a number of cases" had recently emerged of young people and their families flouting rules.
------------------------------------------------------
That's it, yellow card, any more and close the schools for 2 weeks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see a return here to more stringent restrictions in the next few days due to an increase in cases.

If the schools do not open on September 01st, the economy here will literally collapse as a huge percentage of the workforce being able to return to work is dependent on it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What's interesting is the increase in cases isn't translating into an increase in hospital admissions or deaths.

Well, not yet, anyway.

But no government would let it run without lockdown restrictions because of what happened earlier in the year - so decisions will be made based on case numbers.

There's so much no one knows the answers to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not yet Winston as the cases are only new enough. Also a high level of them are people under 40.

I dont know if you saw this from the weekend but these are typical of the morons over here who believe the rules do not apply to them.

True - I more meant the increases seen regionally over here, but appreciate each country has a very different position on this pandemic.

I did see those videos... not a huge surprise to be honest and suspect it's been going on for a while amongst a minority.

Every time I turn the news on I see Cassandra and Tarquin complaining that they've only been given an A.

They should be thanking the government for teaching them at a relatively young age that life can be hard and unfair alot of the time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I suspect that Cassandra and Tarquin don't get their education from government funded establishments?

And are those life lessons only available to the privileged? Bloody typical.

In Germany, the Unions have representatives on the boards of companies.

In the UK they just fight like 12 year olds in the playground.

A great deal of German businesses are also still family owned

In the UK they tend to be brought by venture capitalists (whatever that awful term means)?

Look at which country has a bigger manufacturing sector and also has a better GDP and make-up your own mind which method is most successful?

Germany is a far bigger and more successful manufacturing country than the U.K. for a myriad of different reasons. It’s not that simple.

Those life lessons are available to all but I think the privileged kids not getting what they want (for probably the first time in their lives) is a more worthwhile experience as children from poorer backgrounds will already know that life isn't easy.

I'm sure it's not that simple, but there is still a big "us and them" culture in the UK, mainly divided along whether you went to a public school or the local comp.

Engineers are also regarded with the respect their professionalism deserves. There is nobody in Germany called a "service engineer" for instance, they are "technicians". You only get called an engineer if you have a diploma, rather that a half-hour training course at Kwikfit.

True, it is not that simple but it is a contributory factor. 👍

Well significant numbers have found out this year getting undeserved grades without any work. Not sure that is a good life lesson?

I repeat, everyone should have been awarded the highest grade possible & job done.

You’d be a f*cking idiot not too.

Class war and an upcoming race war is what the Tories are about.

Let’s just get on with it.
