Jack’s was a potential season ender. That’s one difference.

Should have been a red card. But I'm not sure the compliance officer is likely to do much about it as the referee seems to have seen the incident. Won't do us much good if he's suspended now anyway.

Jack’s full body weight onto the ankle versus yesterday the boy was almost vertical as he kicked him on the follow through. If his body weight was behind it AM is going down instantly. That’s another difference.

Only the DU boy knows if he meant it. Agree it is 50:50 if there was intent there?

Realise there’s emotion cos Clancy was ref and yeez mostly all want shot of the buff and this might scupper it but it really wasn’t too bad a challenge by Scottish football standards.

Haven't seen the morelos one but just seeing that Jack one for the first time. Never a red. He is passing the ball and the other player is coming in late for a tackle. Very unlucky situation but mostly the fault of the person getting injured (he actually flung himself into a challenge in a similar way just moments before)

jacks body weight is on it because he is standing up and his studs are down. Really not his fault

Looks like Mellon has worked out how Motherwell have managed to stay in the SPFL and is setting up his team to do likewise.

His team are a shower of dirty bastirts and ryan jack would fit in nicely there if he was good enough.

Doesn’t matter if Jack’s body weight was behind it if it was an accident.

Comparing the two the DU tackle was far worse because of the height.

Could’ve easily been ACL done with that.

I don’t think Jack’s was deliberate but it’s 50/50 whether the DU player meant it.

To not even get a free kick out of it is quite frankly a disgrace.

I haven't actually seen the Morelos one as I was distracted by the baby for a few mins.

I do know that it was deliberate, evil, intended and Dundee United should be forced to play with 10 men against rangers for the rest of the season is the only appropriate punishment.

Actually there is an Idea. If players get suspended after the fact should one of the games be held until you play that club again?

The point I made earlier re compliance officer
Guys not sent off guy gets ban guy serves ban against other team
For me I’d bin the compliance officer and go with the 90 minutes as the criteria for being”reported” are a tad vague
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah the way it works seems pointless. As you are right the club the offence was against sees no benefit, indeed as you say could weaken them against teams they are battling for places with.

Even as a deterrent/punishment I am not sure it works as unless the club fine the player which in most cases they won't then all its doing is giving them a few weekends off.

Hi Rising

Just had a quick look and can't see your similar articles when Morelos stamped on Ralston or volleyed Brown in the nuts.

This

D.Utd vs Celtic, Connelly should have had at least two yellow cards for bad tackles against Eddy, Andrew Dallas wasn't interested.

The trouble with weak Refs is players being injured by thugs. It sends out exactly the wrong message to these hammerthrowers, and deters quality players coming to the Scottish league.

The thug being retrospectively banned, should only be banned for the next meeting of the team he did it against.
