I am not saying do not talk Trump or America, but rather on the Scottish boards, if another opinion is heard that does not fit your narrative, you jump the poster...then it goes, pear shaped.

I am a political animal, but even I wonder at our American obsession.

You may have seen the polls in Scotland which suggest we are very much in the majority that want independence, wanted to remain in the EU, support Asylum seekers and it feels representative of the Scotland i live in at present.

Replace Scottish board with Scotland and you come to the conclusion we need independence.

Neither. Only extremists think extremism works in any form. Other methods may take longer but are more effective ultimately imho. Politics was the same since I was young so little change viz. left and right stereotypes. I will drift into my senior years gently and allowing the young to be mildly embarrassed at whatever views I express as is the norm.

As for the US, nobody asks because they are too busy being angry or offended about stuff but I absolutely celebrate it’s many positives. Having worked for Americans all my days I look forward to seeing the country more and in different situations as I travel there more to support the lad.

One wee thing. How they’ve supported their students. I get average 3 mails a day from his uni. Some of them just selling stuff but otherwise complete openness about case numbers, trends and what they’re doing about them. Others advertising the jam packed itinerary of activities continuing under Covid restrictions. Master said there’s been food trucks just draw up and give out extra stuff just because, keeping spirits up.

Had fook all from her uni here. Fook all. No stats, no actions, just orders to do this, don’t do that. I’ve one kid loving life and one dreading it. So Scottish.

I don't necessarily disagree with ANTIFA stated principles that I have heard, just like extinction rebellion, its just their methods that don't sit well at all. ANTIFAs reason for existing is to fight pre existing supremacist groups, which is a noble cause, but their methods are self defeatist and primitive. You may have seen the polls in Scotland which suggest we are very much in the majority that want independence, wanted to remain in the EU, support Asylum seekers and it feels representative of the Scotland i live in at present.

Replace Scottish board with Scotland and you come to the conclusion we need independence.

The definition is being alert to injustice in society, and you use it like it's a slur which is sad.

Facism is defined as authoritarian ultra nationalism it's characterised by dictatorial power and forcible suppression of the opposition.

Things that would come under Facism.

Proposing lifetime presidencies.
Targeting voters for suppression.
Calling critics fake news.
Attempts to consolidate power
Aggressive nationalism seeping into racism such as MAGA.

Even the guy who was killed (God rest his soul) was only killed after white supremacist groups appeared to clash with BLM protesters. Reports say protests were peaceful before white supremacists appeared on scene.
