Rossiter would have come good too.....

Decent business this summer, expected a loan from Liverpool for a winger. Although i've been happier than most at what we've had from Hagi when he starts on the right.

McCrorie though will make Gerrard look stupid.

Agree on Hagi but I’ve seen this said about McCrorie but just can’t agree.

He wasn’t up to standard we need at cb. And he is useless for us in league in almost all but a couple games.

If he comes good then good for him, but he wasn’t at the standard required if we’re to challenge for league.

Players have to find the right environment to flourish. Dons might be it for McCrorie. Not saying that's his level but sometimes the system or manager or formation just doesn't suit and players need to move on.

I don't get the stick, produced moments of quality that have won us a few games.

He's one of them that comes alive in the final 3rd. He'll be a huge player this season.

Plus he’s only 20 ffs he just shouldn’t get abuse. There’s demanding and there’s outright stupid. I think he’s a strong character though so should deal with it fine but still no excuse for it.

I think he’s already a quality player but he’s capable of being a great player, especially if he keeps building an understanding with Kent.

That’s right. Mccrorie might excel in a team where he has more freedom to express himself, plus I’m sure he’ll stand out in a lower standard midfield like Aberdeen, but at Rangers he was only ever squad player quality

Aye easy to forget him and Kent are both early twenties. Morelos only 24 too. It’s a very young attack.

Always see same criticism of Hagi that he doesn’t produce the top quality enough, but his goal contribution is comparable with any top performing attacking mid in any league. He’s got an assist every second game, and has done it in big games for us.

Will no doubt be games where he doesn’t produce but drifting in and out of games is normal with all attacking players like that never mind young ones. Not realistic to ask for more.

Can’t I’ve seen Zungu, but would like Wilshere if there was any chance.

Was on 100k a year but. Did get a massive pay out so if money wasn’t motivation, even on a largely pay as you play contract and he’s fit like he says think he’d be brilliant for us

posted on 6/10/20

Anyone who signs Wilshere surely would only offer a pay per game deal.

Welbeck also just released. An interesting one, still think we are short of a wide option because i'm not convinced be Jones or Barker but our squad probably too big.

We still have Middleton, McPake and Kennedy all as young attacking players if we are stuck.

Think McPake is off to Morton and Kennedy is off to ICT (and interestingly not Bayern Munich or Man City as his plum of an agent tried to tell him).

On McCrorie - I agree he has real attributes. Creativity isnt one of them unfortunately which means he was never going to be a regular in our midfield.

He did a great job of screening the back four against the tougher teams but in the games we had 70+ percent possession and he was expected to create something his limitations are shown up.

And he isnt big enough or good enough to get a game at CB ahead of the 5 we currently have in there.

So for the sake of the boys career it was right to move him on.

My only gripe is we should have been looking for nearer £1m for McCrorie. In the right team he is without doubt an asset.

In terms of the transfer window - it has been pretty decent. We are going to have a bit of an interesting bun fight for the CF starting position when Roofe is fit. I liked his link up play and movement more than Morelos.

I was really wanting to shift Morelos so we could all get on with our lives but we are nowhere near as reliant on him now so I am calmer about that. If he gets suspended and misses a few games it will him sitting on the bench watching Roofe and Itten scoring the goals instead.

For me we are much stronger than we were last season. Kent is settled and fit. Helander is fit and getting a run - I would say he is our best out and out defender. Barisic is the best LB in the league by some distance and Tavs is playing out his skin.

The one big area where we needed new blood was in CM (despite Arfields sterling efforts as a stand in). Time will tell if Zungu is up to it.

Wiltshire is paper talk for me and I would only expect to see him rock up at Ibrox if Aribos injury was a season ender.

The first two didn’t cut it. Jamie Murphy couldn’t be guaranteed game time which is what he needed after his injury.
