Expect many teams to be decimated with players out with covid after this break but money talks it seems.

Ireland are travelling to Slovakia, where a State of Emergency has just been declared and the virus is completely out of control.
Unusually I agree with Kash for once
Yep, this should have been scrapped along with the CC and maybe even the FA cup.
The players will have to play a full season, then Euros (or similar) then another full season and then the winter world cup.
Next few years are gonna be mental. We will see so many injuries.
Should nations start withdrawing their players from club matches? With the Euro qualifiers, African cup and then the Euros coming up players need to be well rested. What's more important, trying to win an international tournament with your country or trying to secure 10th the EPL? Club teams can play youth players so that the international players can concentrate on more important things. Afterall, they're only playing at the clubs for money. They only really care about their national team.
The fact we’re playing overseas games with most of the population under blanket travel restrictions is laughable
Couldn't agree more.
We played 4 games in 8 days then its a 2 week International break?
I don't understand why the clubs put up with their prized assets being pulled away 3 times before xmas to potentially get injured.
I just assumed that with the tiny break between seasons and the congestion that already exists there would be no International footie until Spring.
The clubs pay the players wages and they should be doing more to put a stop to this nonsense.

Should Dundee start withdrawing its JA606 posters from the PL boards? With the SPL, Scottish League Cup and Scottish FA Cup coming up posters need to be well rested. What's more important, WUMming the PL boards or maintaining your reputation as the scourge of the Rangers fans for the 10th season running? PL boards can use homegrown WUMs so that the international WUMs can concentrate on more important things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good point.
On top of the ridiculous schedule - you’re just asking for players to give each other COVID. It is seriously dumb - especially considering how unimportant the games are and how the more the best players play the more likely they will be in terrible condition when the tournament comes around
Totally agree with this article. Absolute farce that players are travelling here there and everywhere for meaningless international fixtures. I'd actually argue the same for the CL and EL.
Football, in this current climate, should be kept as domestic.
people think fatigue is gonna play a part this season, just wait till next. Qatar 2022 was always gonna be the worst world cup of all time due to the weather but make no mistake, having knackered players in that heat will be horrendous.

I’d add that as a result, if it isn’t bad enough for fans being banned from attending matches (understandably), the quality of the football, in both club and international settings, is also really going to suffer too.

Im a big fan of taking away the World Cup from Qatar for many reasons but tbh I think the players will be fine in the stadiums as the air con tech will come into play.
since when was 25 degrees ideal football heat
I'd personally cancel it and rearrange it. cant expect players to play the amount they have for the last few months for basically the next two years.
International football is the truest form of football. Not spoilt by money (apart from bribing and such). It would be like if they all used the same car in formula one, so it's the best driver that comes out on top. How sport should be. You shouldn't be able to buy success.
