In other news, Ole keeps fuelling belief he’s a yes man ...

"There’s always people who want to talk about how well they’re running things and how well they’re doing,” Ole said. “We’ve all got different views on how football should be played and how clubs should be run.

“We’ve got good people running our club and there’s always discussions behind the scenes, which people don’t know about, around how we’re doing things and evaluating everything.”

“It’s a process the club is going through all the time, discussing if we’ve got the right people in the right positions,” Solskjaer said.

“It’s not for me to say whether we should have a director of football.

“At the moment we’re working with this structure and I feel the results last season we’ve seen a big improvement, fans looked at us and said we’re moving in the right direction. Hopefully, we can carry that on this season.”

Shame it wasn't the manager these things instead.

He is right. A club like Manchester United shouldn't be losing like that especially to a club like Tottenham. Heads should have rolled in my personal opinion after that
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It showed who is a top 4 side tbh. We have been in top 4 every season bar last.
You made it top 4 in a season marred with controversies and shenanigans of 5 subs, which helped Ole no end with such a big squad.

I am guessing you'll be back to 6th again - your rightful place, bless <laugh<
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are not that good yourselves tbh. If you are a top 4 side then thag shows how weak the Premier league currently is. Bar a couple of very good attacking players I really don't rate Spurs which makes this loss all the more worse imo
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we are a good side. A lot more improved from last season with a better defence and better attack and starting to look like a better midfield. Beating Southampton 5-2 away from home and a 7-2 win in Europa were already signs that we were a dangerous side for you guys when we have our top players available.

Monchi at Sevilla knows...

"I do understand there are very successful clubs – Manchester United are probably one of the top five in the world, but they do not have that specific position – but I think that clubs more and more are aware that they really need this position and also we are the connection between the technical staff, the squad, the board, we know the market, we get lots of information through the different scouts,” Monchi told The Telegraph.

“So, for me, I can’t believe a club does not have this particular position. Logically, I have to believe in it because that’s what I do. But I do think it’s essential.”

You guys are looking good. I looked at your first and second teams and you’re up there with any squad in the league. You should be aiming for 4th at worst and possibly 3rd if Lampard can’t find a balance for all those attacking players. Hojberg was one of the signings of the summer and Reguilon is the quality of full back Jose just never had at United.

bruno hasn't been the same since the last few games of the season, not sure if thats a fitness/lack of preseason or just a symptom of the wider team.

but he is far more of a vocal leader on the pitch than anyone and should definitely be captain while slabby tries to remember how to defend.

We have been a top side for the past few years, except last year or 18 months when the side needed refreshing and we didn't act during the transfer market.

We got to the CL final which is a measure of how good the side is, beating City and Ajax who at the time were labelled the best "young" side in Europe and were touted as the team to beat in Europe for the foreseeable future.
Ajax demolished Real Madrid, beat us with an astounding counter attack at " Home".
Yet in the reverse encounter we beat them and qualified!
That papered over the cracks and which then ultimately led to one bad season which was the last season. We have now refhreshed the side and added quality to it.
I wasn't remotely surprised we blitzed your half-hearted prima-donnas at OT.
We have Bale to come into this side that blitzed United, Sputhampton both away and Maccaba Haifa at home.

Yeah, other than that we are not that good

Top 4 is definitely looking more achievable than it did before the season kicked off with the form of our rivals. And I don't think Everton and Villa will have the stamina to keep it going throughout the whole season. I mean I think they can challenge for the top 4, but not get a really high points total that would cement a place for them i.e. 75-85.

seem to remember similar thoughts about Leicester back when they won it.

I think this season will be a real unknown. We have already seen Liverpool don't look as good, they got past leeds by the skin of their teeth and that game showed a lot of the weaknesses that villa then exposed.

City seem as unpredictable as last year, Chelsea blow hot and cold and spurs are one bad press conference away from a meltdown.

one thing I found interesting was when I was watching week 4 NFL mic'd up. for those who don't know the NFL mic's up random players on teams every week and then creates a highlight video of their conversations and such every week.

there was a fascinating comment by jj watt of the texans last week when he said it was weird playing in the silence, no atmosphere with no fans, the game felt like a training match and it was hard to raise the intensity without the fan adrenaline.

you have to think that is affecting players in the premier league too

you said you've been a top side but not for the last 50% of your time period. so you've been a top side and a not top side in equal measure....

yeah, a top side for the past 3-4 years, but not the past 1.5.

spurs win the "top side for 1.5-2.5 years" trophy.

Or lets look at it this way.
You fluked your way to the CL final winning two games in your group and qualifying having played Barca reserves.
You got absolutely decimated by City only to qualify via VAR and a Llorente hamdball.
You then got compleyely dominated by Ajax for 1.5 games only for them to fall apart in the 2nd half. You then got easily dispatched in the final.
You have been sheite for the last 18 months and 90% of your fans don't want Jose there. You have had a decent start to the season but not great. Beaten with ease by Everton, drew with s relegation battling Newcastle and beat us who are ridiculously low on confidence and fitness and currently playing shambollically with 10 men after Lamela cheated.
Your CBs are Dier and Sanchez who are awful. Your keeper is worse than ours and you have an ok midfield. You have Bale to come back. A player who is well past his best, spends most of his time on the treatment table and even on the pitch hardly produces anymore. Its not 2013 still Morespunk.

That is more realistic way of looking at it rather than some deluded feckwit like yourself.
Anyway good luck fighting for 4th oh and maybe just maybe you might clinch your 3rd trophy in 30 years. Good shout for LC having played less games than every single other team.

Liverpool are probably suffering a bit as a result of already achieving their ultimate goal of winning the league. Now they've done that the motivation in them is somewhat reduced IMO.

City look like they've lost some of their edge over the last year.

I still think those teams will be up there though. Then you've got the teams who were seen as below them from last season like United, Chelsea, Spurs, Leicester, Wolves, Arsenal; all good teams with some improved from last season and some maybe the same or less (early days yet). So as far as Everton and Villa go, I don't think they'll be doing a Leicester, as there are more teams in this campaign who could easily beat another on any given day.

I would not be surprised though if we started seeing more success stories like Leicester in the near future, of at least unfavourable teams finishing high up the table or challenging top 4, given all the money they get to spend.

Salty much?

Go and have a lie down because no one sound more bitter than you right now

We have restrained ourselves from making this forum unbearable for you and some deluded United fans after we wiped the floor with your club last Sunday.

Ole had a smug smile for Jose at the start of the season, and by the end of it, he was in tears

I won't rub it in anymore as I have info on how United meltdown happened internally that SUnday, because there are some very decent United fans on here - but you aren't one of them

If and when we lose, I don't slate opposition fans and have a dig at them. I come here and congratulate them. That's the diff between class and crass

posted on 11/10/20

you would have thought United fans would have started being humble by now but no... still arrogant beyond measure.
Other than the first 30 seconds last weekend, they were taken apart by a team full of "awful" players.
Give your head a wobble MancPython… for me you are a long way behind even little old awful Tottenham right now.
Is there even a single United player who would get in a Spurs first team right now?

I read this stat today - that under Ole since he was appointed permanently we’ve only ever won more than two league games in a row (the 4 in a row we won after lockdown). Shows a real inability to bring consistency to the form books. And that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.

We are not that good? You need to remove your tinted glasses otherwise you'll suffer from the same ailment as GB

Yeah, other than that we are not that good
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or lets look at it this way.

Cheers sweetheart

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I am proper salty you have never won a CL and you beat us in the 3rd game of the season

Oh and like I care what you think. You are a dirty little cuuumstain. One of the biggest caaaants on here

I read this stat today - that under Ole since he was appointed permanently we’ve only ever won more than two league games in a row (the 4 in a row we won after lockdown). Shows a real inability to bring consistency to the form books. And that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.

I’d been pointing this out a lot last season.

If you take away all the gifted penalties, Bruno Penandes has been a fairly ordinary signing, not bad but just not the great signing some would have you believe.
