We already know the “cost” of all this

Reports today that cancer and heart patients will need to cope themselves. How on earth does that work?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds like nonsense, certainly up here cancer patients have continued treatment.

The hospital is basically open as usual, clinics on, minor treatments being done.

Schools had to be done, the other two were borderline crazy decisions.

One to save city centre landlords and the other to serve Uni landlords.

I’m surprised that the numbers for London are so low.

How are they managing that?

are they?

I'm pretty sure I read at the weekend they were getting a lot worse quite quickly

there's now more people in hospital with COVID than there was when we went into lock down in March
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Going by the slides they put up, then they’re doing fine compared to other areas. And they’re not looking at them for this tier 3 thing.

Johnson

all there constituencies are in a worse place than some in the North West and aren't being locked down again

Nottingham has the highest positive case rate in the UK and aren't in any sort of lockdown

JVT makes interesting comment. He says that the disease never fell as low in the community in the north as it did in south and elsewhere when restrictions were lifted. In that case, argument surely is why were restrictions lifted in the north at the time?

What?

Are some genuinely suggesting that other than schools going back; universities should stay closed and people don’t return to work?

There’d be nothing left. What will pay for the NHS?

And unless I’m reading and listening to all the fake news then there is absolutely no way that hospitals or any health body, dentist or care facility is “open for business as normal”. Absolutely not even remotely close.

I’m stunned and it only serves to confirm to me that too many are completely blasé or unaware of the structural damage being done.

didn't the Unis in Scotland group say last week they were confident that the virus had spread through the campus' and they were over the worst of it?

Posted at the weekend, St AAndrews claim to be at 25/100,000 which is very decent if true.

Saturday will be strange.

No pubs open or being able to go means 1 thing, house parties.

Whether people like it or not, that’s what’s happening.

Ginger, what time you wanting us all down for?

Be watching the game at home before driving north to take wee ones back up the road.

Everyone is welcome.

C’ept lauders as he’ll charge off in a rage before we find him lying stupefied on a toilet floor.

They’re completely incomparable stats. We weren’t even testing back in April other than in hospitals.

Again being led by the “science”. Even WHO are saying to stop these lockdowns. The governments are simply too terrified to listen to anyone else.

The hospitals will be full and won’t cope all right. But not with Covid. Because of the maniacal and downright dangerous path we are being forced down.

Let’s see if everyone is still content with this come mid December when everything is practically closed, jobs and houses are being lost by the millions and there is no change other than we will be a truly bankrupt country.

Hundreds of thousands of families are right now being threatened with court action for not paying council tax over the past three months alone. Everyone seems to think it’ll all be paid by someone else. Wait til they finally publish a budget when they have the guts.

the return to offices struck me as mental down south.

every office i have ever worked has at least one cvnt that coughs all year, every year, and with cold and flu season it was a minefield.

crazy, but i believe indoor and outdoor labour should be allowed with proper precautions

we're already a truly bankrupt union mate.

i believe in some sort of normality, but only with the strictest possible guidelines for safety, which idiots simply will not adhere to.

people are the problem because too many just want things their own way and f... the rest.

Doc on shortbread this morning saying the flu season in Oz / NZ was extremely benign and is usually a good indicator for the RoW? However, tempered slightly by the thought that Covid measures were probably limiting the normal spread.

Think this is one of the reason we threw up these Nightingale hospitals, can see them being used over the next 4-5 months

they need to extend the Furlough scheme for another 6 months imo even if they keep it at 60/70% think that's inline with what Germany and France are paying for a further year

I’ve been in many offices, on sites, in restaurants and bars.

All have superb protocols in place and all ensure they are adhered to.

We’ve had one or two saying they just have a cough but will be in because they’re ok. Told in no uncertain terms they will be refused entry for 14 days minimum. Every company I know acts like this. Every single one.

This fear mongering is what fosters these views. They are simply not true.

Theres 15 off in my office just now, 6 positive and 9 close contacts self isolating

we've had a good run at it, before this we'd only had 1 positive case(that we knew about) since March despite being in the office throughout the full thing
