And no matter how many times you does you went back for more, now I'm like, I'm getting to old for this shhhit.
It's an age thing, in part. There is a psychological gratification in being part of a hero story and having a purpose, which at a real life level we all crave. Modern games, halo, dark souls, etc all provide and address that need at least superficially, eventually the transient reality becomes evident(after how many games, I don't know) and you stop getting that reward and it just becomes a grind.
Old games often were something you could hop on to play to kill an hour or two of boredom, as opposed to immersing yourself in another world or epic battles and many days or weeks of time spent(Destiny etc).
Just not for me at all now.

I’m the opposite. Had it since day 1, but only now in past couple of years have I properly started using it, and in terms of games only in past few months got myself into it. But it is very demanding these games, they go on forever

It's funny, Demon's Souls running on the PS5 is the next gen game I'm most interested in. I know it is because of all the hours I spent playing it on the PS3.

Tales of the Borderlands was hilarious, brilliant story, brilliant soundtrack, brilliant voice acting throughout.
Not your classical borderlands game. It was developed by telltale games, the peeps who did the walking dead episodes, the wolf among us etc (another fantastic game btw)

That is why I resist recommending games, as everyone has their likes and dislikes. I played God of War and finished it. But my favourite game this gen (outside of VR) was Detroit. But it isn't for everyone.
