I think your centre backs are overrated
I may have mentioned this before.

I don’t think that the formation was the reason we lost. IMO our players did not play well or show the energy and passion that Rangers had. At least when Griff came on he showed great awareness and movement that you want from a CF. Lots to fix as yesterday was a continuation of what we have seen all season ☹️

Never liked 3 at the back gaps in the channels all day
The 2 wide guys didn’t seem to know if they should sit or push on
Ended up doing neither

Definitely missed Christie and a bit of drive in the middle.
And the centre forward might have made a difference

That said was it about 10 million in subs you brought on ?

Im gony be very predictable here and say that Lenny is NOT the man for the job.
There is clearly something far wrong behind the scenes? We have been bloody awful this season, no passion or commitment ,and that includes lennon himself ! who has sat on his @rse and watched this debacle from the start of the season.
He has been given money to spend, he has the strongest squad in the league but seems to lack the ability to organise and motivate them?
I cant name one player who gets pass marks for his form this season EVERY 1 of them are underperforming

Maybe it is as simple as a 9+ year campaign hailing Celtic as 10 in a row champions is now getting on top of them all?

Is that right, aye?

Cousin we have done things differently?

Of course.

Not throwing the new guy in who has hardly finished unpacking for one.

Playing that imposter Ntcham yet again when it was obvious that Turnbull would have been the preferable option.

Making changes up front sooner.

Hooking the ineffective Frimpong and Ely.

All to me were blindingly obvious.

I’m not suggesting it would have changed the result but maybe we’d have made a better fist of it.

Appalling decision making before the game even started and obvious alternatives not taken during it. Lennon has to shoulder that but in all honesty he’s been guilty of ridiculous team line ups and tactics in the past; often without any need to do so.

Eh?

I’d imagine the pressure is equally if not more so on Rangers now.

Fwck this small lead up and it all changes again. And being honest it’s been done multiple times by Rangers in the recent past.

Enjoy the well deserved win and great season start but caution might be advised.

The problem with three at the back is that you need to be winning the midfield battle, we haven't been doing much of that for a while.

I don’t think it matters, it’s not an issue of systems. The team aren’t playing good football and have no clear style or pattern regardless of how we’ve set up. We’ve been told it’s because of teams sitting in etc and had to watch turgid 1-0’s to be told that results all that matter. Bigger picture is that this has been coming all season and I don’t know how we’re going to come back from it. Hibs game and second half in particular aside we’ve been crap this season.

Was so frustrated yesterday but just because it was so obvious. Brown and Laxalt did what they could, rest of the team poor. Barkas isn’t inspiring any confidence either

Considering the build up with Covid disruption and our form, the only surprise is the degree of shyteness served up yesterday. Before the game I thought the best we could hope for was a draw.

As soon as I saw the team I knew we were pashing against the wind.
Most anaemic performance hopefully anybody will have to witness this season.

Knives will be out for Lennon if we're second best in the next game regardless of league situation.

it's a simple observation and something the Rangers 9 in a row said back in the day. They were the better team but lost the league, a couple of bad results and it got worse and they struggled to overcome it.

Rangers have nothing to lose this season especially as many believe the Celtic squad is far and away the best in the league. Rangers have a decent squad, No superstars, a rookie manager (well some on here say that)

I’m not getting piiissy with you. You could be right but I’d hope at least that players these days are better prepared and coached with regards to mental stress.

They’ll also be fitter and more aware too I’d think.

As ever time will tell.

By next Sunday we might have a clearer picture

Both have tough euro games
Then on to Sunday

How both teams approach the euro games will be telling

Two very simple things i would have differently yesterday without any real changes.

1 however many times Lennon told them not to give away cheap free kicks in dangerous positions, he should have told them ten more times.

2 duffy should have been marking goldson at set pieces.

Absolute basics.

Duffy played him on for the first one and ajer is in between 2 players not sure who he’s marking. Poor

Never been a fan of 3 at the back as the ball in behind is so easy. Lennon looked a mess yesterday - both physically and tactically.

What were our choices? Go 4-2-3-1 and get slated for changing formation when he was slated for not going 3-5-2 earlier in the season.

Back 3 - no other option

Middle - Brown and McGregor no issue

CAM - Ntcham - splits the support and I think we all agreed this was his opportunity to shine. Other options were Turnbull or Rogic.

Wide - everyone raving about Frimpong - no issues
Laxalt - decent debut, if Taylor had started Lennon would get slated for signing a left back and sticking with Taylor.

Sttikers - this is where we fell down. Klimala I've said for a long time is an impact sub and not a starter. He was useless. Ely is not a striker, he needs to play in a 4231.

Options Griffiths or Ajeti not deemed match fit.

The majority of the team is what we'd all have picked. It was the attitude of the players that cost us. They turned up with a scheidt effort.

Ntcham is probably done in the eyes of most fans. Hindsight tells us Griffiths or Ajeti to start and get a half each.

Jullien or Elhamed in defence, Christie in CAM, Eduoard and Ajeti or Griffiths up top and we are a very different side.

Let's see if we can pull together a run similar to after Christmas last year. It's only one match after all
