Should've ended with 2 goals 2 assists as Martial spurned an almost unmissable chance from his pass too.

He was fantastic yesterday.

My opinion on him 1st was that he wouldn’t cut it, then my opinion on him was that he is a useful squad player who probably isn’t quite good enough to start regularly for a top looking to make it at the top.

However yesterday was as good of a midfield performance as I’ve seen at United this season and he can keep that level he can become a fixture in the team.

Remember Jose creating a new award to give him abs we all laughed.

I also remember SAF telling Jose to play.

Both clearly saw something in him.

He’s missed for too many sitters this season for a usually good finisher.

Was a hell of a performance... If he could be close to that on a consistent basis as he hits his peak years, we would be sorted for that position.

I've often said that his name and look gives some of our mighty fans the wrong idea.... But keep playing like that and no one will be able to question him. He's put in so many big performances now, it is already baffling that people still see him as some workhorse clogger.

He can definitely play.

If KDB or Bruno scored both of those goals people would be raving about them.

The technique/first touch and finish for his second goal yesterday was brilliant the way he stepped over it to touch it with his right foot to set up the shot.

so what you're saying is our win yesterday was down to individual brilliance?

Exactly.

We only won because the players bailed Ole out, individual brilliance bagged us 6 goals.

The fact we conceded 2 poor goals however, that's on Ole and he needs to be rightly slandered for it.

His goal against City last season at OT was brilliant too. It wasn't as easy as it looked shooting from that range

Martial needs to give his head a rattle he has missed too many glaring chances trying to side foot it home along the ground if the keeper goes to ground and spreads himself he has a good chance of stopping it.
He needs to either put his laces through it or put some height on it, it does look cool when he slots it home, but he misses far too many chances IMO

True. But at this point even my 6 year-old would score against Arsenal. They're horrible!

Five stars from me OP.

Amazing the abuse the lad received on here from the usual suspects.

Here’s what Scholay said when I said McT would become a very useful squad player:

“This fella Rosso is in Neverland I tell you. We are in for another tough season. I can already see article after article being written about our dire midfield come the season.”

I love players like McT. Does whatever is asked of him to his best. Great when he gets to take the accolades and little bit of glory. Looking forward to more from him in the future.

Credit to Ole also. It was clearly an order to get forward like that. Diafol called it post XI and pre match. Also you can see it with the second goal fro mine throw in and also the first goal.

I think the reason that we don’t see this more is that we don’t trust our defence as much as used to do when we had Rio Vidic / Stam Ronny / Bruce & Pally

I actually think this is why we see AWB caught out of position at the back post, I bet they’re told to keep narrow to protect the CBs

McT is 24 years old. I hope Ynited can keep him for another 10.

Said yesterday on the match thread - there is this weird opinion amongst some of our fanbase that McT is some kind of average workhorse with no footballing ability. It just isn't true.

Forget yesterday, I also thought he was outstanding against City last week. Not only off the ball, but he was crucial in how we played through the press.

I have no doubt some people's views on him are influenced by his name and his nationality. But he really is an important player for us now.
