Do not want Ince back at all.
Do not want Lawrence back in at all
As a priority sign Clarke permanently.
Sign a good number 9

I think one of the reasons the team are doing better is because they seem to have got a bit of team spirit. Eleven players who work for each other and want to win. So why the hell would we want a prima donna like Ince anyway near the club? We got good money for him and I for one don't want him at Derby.

I think Vidal has wound me up.

And I hope he doesn't start bigging up his favourite wingher, cuz that will send me to drink.

Ince was the epitome of "mercurial" ... ie occasional flashes of genius followed by (increasingly) long spells of mediocrity. Certainly not in his father's mould.

Ince does have a lot to prove at this point, completely out of favor at Stoke. If he doesn't get his act together his next permanent move will be to a league 1 or league 2 club.

Lawrence needs go to somewhere like League 2 to rebuild, being a slightly above average player 1 game in every 15 in this league, with a host of personal issues in the background is no going to cut it. Ibe appears to be in the same boat.

I'm not a big fan of Ince, he's inconsistent, selfish, thinks the team is all about him (and from what I've heard isn't happy unless he's the star in the dressing room) but he's 10x the player either of those are when he does play well, and you get a good game every 4 or 5 from him. Not what we need in the long run, but a better option than what we have, assuming he's fit and being frozen out of the Stoke team hasn't resulted in him not bothering to look after himself.

Odd. We've gone from not being able to pay our players to signing (allegedly) on loan/perm three players that would be on v high wages. Can't see it happening.

Regards the Ince link that's got to be a McClaren suggestion given he got the best out of him. Totally agree with VC10's point (team spirit), why bring in players that have a poor work rate when we need grafters?

Not trying to wind anybody up, just reporting rumours. We are certainly very short of goals and when you look through the team there aren’t many you would expect to score more than the occasional one. I’m no big fan of Ince but his career goal scoring record is very good. We can’t rely on the defence to keep churning out clean sheets. Part of me wants us to line up with a Tom on either flank purely because of the apoplexy it would cause on here.

Don't think the replies are to shoot the messenger, at least mine isn't Vidal. Just expressing our views on the suggestion Ince might be joining.

I remember seeing him at Westfield once, face like a slapped wet fish.

If Ince is the answer God help us. We don't need mercurial talent, we need graft; commitment; and a few goals would not hurt.

Yery good Vidal you are trying to wind us all up...You ought to be on the stage.................next one out of town.

With Tom on one wing and Tom on the other it's hello Rochdale for certain.

We already have graft and commitment though. We haven’t got all that much talent and that’s why we aren’t scoring many goals.

It is all a matter of opinion, and it is mine that In Lawrence and Ince we have a pair that is seriously short of talent.
The only thing Lawrence has an abundance of is petulance. as he has shown on too many occasions.

CAM with guile please.

Quite impressed with Knight on the left n flank tucking in for Buchanan to bomb on. Someome to hold onto the ball in tight central zones n spray the ball about a bit. That Wilshere or Hughes would do.

Very good point

No you miss the point. We have G & C. Not least due to Rooney, Shinnie 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and co. We need someone to score some goals. That means a good old fashioned CF and not some light weight show pony. We did have one but seem to have mislaid him.........

posted on 24/1/21

We have an old-fashioned centre forward and he is doing a decent job. The reason we don’t score many goals is because we haven’t got many skilful players on the pitch. Those we do have are working very hard to stop the opposition but they are not so good at making chances.

All very good points guys...but the table suggests that teams have become more defensive. Looking at the League table as it stands today. I've looked at the top six and shown the average goals scored per game.....there's not a lot about these days. What do you make of that then ????
Norwich 1.4
Swansea 1.2
Watford 1.2
Brentford 1.6
Reading 1.48
Bournemouth 1.52

Interesting Terry. Our average is 0.64 if my maths is correct. 16 goals in 25 games.

Errr...no ...we dont actually
....but I agree our goals "for" is poor....but my point was that nobody is averaging even 2 goals per game...

2 goals per game would mean 92 over the season. It is quite rare for even the best teams to score so many in a season.

I get the point Terry, but there is no getting around the fact that our defensive record is up there with the best in the division (only 8 teams have conceded fewer) while our strike rate is the very worst.

posted on 25/1/21

Two best promoted teams of recent years, , Wolves and Leeds, both supposedly free scoring only managed 82 goals each.
