See Liverpool signed Ben Davies, I know Vidal rated him but I thought he was pretty average. I must have been wrong about that.
Overall, quite pleased with the new signings.
Adds strength to the squad, and if Rooney can get them motivated as he has the rest of the lads, we should be in for an interesting second half of the season.
I admit I had my doubts when he was appointed but up to now he has exceeded expectations .
Fair play to him, and good luck today, we owe them

Time will tell Spart- I think he's a decent player but certainly don't think he's Liverpool class. He's 25 so probably as good as he'll get. Can't help thinking it's an emergency signing by Liverpool and he'll end up back at Preston once injuries clear up.
Just spotted this on a Man U web site talking about Mengi... "If he can help Rooney’s side keep clean-sheets more often then they should stand a chance in climbing up the table."
Not sure its possible to keep clean sheets much more often than we are at the moment?
Don't think the journalist checked our recent record. 🤔

Edmundson and Mengi centre half cover or for when Rooney wants a back three.
Baningime covers Bielik’s position. We are much weaker there without Bielik but with Baningime, Shinnie, Bird and Knight there is plenty of energy.
Roberts a bench option or will he start? He and Jozwiak would give us a better balance on the flanks than playing Knight or Waghorn there. Maybe he competes with Lawrence for one spot.
Gregory to keep Kazim fresh. I wonder if Niasse might still be possible outside the window as a free agent or is that just greedy?
Initially you would think Knight drops into the midfield three with one of Waghorn, Roberts or Lawrence coming in. Surely can’t drop Wisdom with the defence doing so well.
Marshall
Byrne Wisdom Clarke Buchanan
Bird Shinnie
Knight
Roberts CKR Jozwiak
Shadow 11:
Roos
McDonald Edmundson Mengi Forsyth
Beninigime Brown
Sibley
Lawrence Gregory Waghorn

Thanks, Vidal, that looks more reassuring.
Big February schedule and seems like there's decent competition for every position now, despite the injuries.
Might even give some players back to the u23s to make them more competitive
Can't find out who has gone? Waggy? Anyone able to summarise? Thanks.
Only leavers I know of are Evans & Whittaker (permanents) and Hector-Ingram (loan).
Will await any updates from those with their ears closer to the ground
The talk is that Kaide Gordon has gone, it just hasn't been announced yet. There was suddenly a rumour about Waghorn to Cardiff yesterday evening but it didn't happen. It coincided with a rumour that we were in for Isaac Success from Watford so perhaps that one was a long shot that ended up not happening.
Malik Mothersille on loan to the Academy from Chelsea, Heb
Guess we're all maxed out on loans now, Vidal ?
Yes I think we are only allowed 5 in the match day squad, is that right? If all are fit then it's Clarke, Bradbury, Roberts, Edmundson and then one of Mengi or Beningime.
What an upgrade that would have been Waghorn out, Success in.
Nothing official, official to say he's gone unless we count Wikipedia?
5 is indeed the maximum number.

Bradbury?
Ah sorry Scouse, brain fail. You know who I meant I am sure.
Lee Bradbury was a Derby legend of course. It's a tall order but here's hoping Gregory can eclipse all of his great achievements for us in a Rams shirt.
Lee Bradbury blast from the past , had to do a quick Wiki check. Certainly up there with the likes of Mikael Beck, Liam Dickinson and Connor Sammon.
Still some chat about the possibility of Niasse coming.
Realistically can we afford to do it? He'd want a big wage.
He's out of contract so presumably any wage we offered would be higher than his current income. A short-term deal might suit both parties - it puts him back in the shop window for a longer contract somewhere and would be low-risk for us. Depends what other offers he might have of course.
Oumar Niasse who has been linked to Derby as a free agent is in talks with Huddersfield today.
