If a new club can't claim the credits for a former clubs glories....why were Rangers able to use coefficient points from 11/12 season in Europe in 17/18

Surely a new club shouldn't have been credited with achieving results and gathering coefficient points the season before it existence?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
They weren’t that’s why.

Coefficient points only go back 5 years so what you claim is impossible. The only coefficient points they had were the country contribution.

Your point above may well be correct, but explain this.....

For club revenue share purposes, UEFA now keeps and uses a 10 year club coefficient

https://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/tenyears/

Rangers 10 year coefficient currently sits at 30.750, with the following coefficient points being used to make up that figure

10/11: 12.000
11/12: 1.500

To not include old Rangers results to the country contribution would discriminate against other Scottish clubs for the purposes UEFA use the 10 year thing for i.e. revenue calculations.

Again I agree.....but you have omitted the blatantly obvious

Where a club has amassed a coefficient points tally smaller than the country contribution figure , then the country contribution figure is used instead

Take Aberdeen for example....in the last 10 years, Aberdeen have amassed 8.5 coefficients points in Europe. The country contribution figure for Scottish clubs is 9.155 points. As a result, Aberdeen are ranked on the basis of having amassed 9.155 points thanks to the country contribution figure, rather than the measles 8.5 points they’ve actually amassed themselves.

To apply that to Rangers, we’ve amassed a total of 17.250 points since our first game in Europe after coming back up the leagues in 17/18 season. 17.250 points is more than 9.155, so our ranking is going to be based on the points we have cumulated ourselves, not the country contribution figure, the country contribution figure is not applied at all here.

We aren’t being ranked on the basis of just the 17.250 points we’ve gained since 17/18...our points tally is 30.750, as it is the 17.250 since 17/18, plus 1.5 from 11/12 and 12 from 10/11

So again, Rangers are currently being ranked on the basis of the results they’ve acheieved in Europe over the past 10 years, including 10/11 and 11/12

It’s in clear black and white that UEFA are classing us as the same club

You’re a club that has liquidated and essentially been re packed.

Happens to businesses that are shoddily run in a fashion that renders them unviable to the point they cannot meet their commitments by accumulating debt way beyond their ability to pay or meet the cash flow servicing requirements. Usually a combination of both.

This repack is again unable to meet its debts unless it revolves them into a shareholding deemed to be equal or receives cash loan injections.

The notion it appears to now again need such a relatively low level of cash for a club your size at this point in time where season ticket money is about to come in is apparently nothing to worry about according to bears.

UEFA consider you the same side. So does practically every other single supporter from every other club worldwide. It doesn’t really matter either way. But to think it won’t be used to wum you with carries the same head burying in sand technique adopted when anyone discusses the parlous condition of your finances.

In other words you’re the same club but in a horrible financial mess. I’m sure you’ll get out of it but as you’ve seen with us; selling players of real talent and value tends to downgrade the quality on the park as replacing them with an equal standard is far from easy.

Stevie, the answer is the same reason whe Rangers finally got to play in Europe they were granted the country coefficient despite not having any 5yr record that would merit it.

Also why the ‘points’ accumulated by Gretna in Europe contributed to the country coefficient long after they were gone.

A more pertinent question for you is if Rangers is the same club then why were debenture holders stuffed out of the product they bought from the club?

I don't mind the odd wum about the subject or debate for debates sake, where I start drawing the line is.

A. Truly believe it
B. Truly believe it and knowing how they feel about their club still rant and rave about it to people they call friends or in some cases even family
C. Rants full of bitterness and bile

I would not talk to these folk in the pub, work and they wouldn't be welcome in my home so the filter button works just like the option of telling someone to feck off and sit at their own table.

It's far better for my mental health overall.
