Scotland has already managed to provide 100% of its energy through wind and renewable sources on many occasions. It's possible if the political will is there to make it happen.
Also created hundreds of jobs up here in the past few years.

Cracked me up the other day reading that the UK are wanting to build a new coal station despite kidding on they want to move toward green energy sources 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And we also don’t want to be reliant on other countries for critical resources. Cant have it all ways.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Invest in renewables and they can provide 100% of our energy. It's not rocket science.. instead of investing in fossil fuels. Coal no less which is the dirtiest and most polluting of fossil fuels 🤦♂️
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mate, try reading up about it rather than red top headlines.
Are we just lazy bastirts?
For my sake I hope yes otherwise when someone notices i'm in bother.

And crown estates have just been through an offshore licensing round that had staggered the bidders at what they went for. There is huge pent up demand to provide it but capacity is being constrained partly to push up prices.
The big oil coys have entered the playground too cos they know the writing is on the wall and they are bidding silly money. Investors are throwing money at renewables. I have been fortunate in some of my own investments and made a small fortune out of it. My missus makes a living out of it. It’s all good but everyone wants a slice.

Guys everyone has an opinion on this but it seems to me that most of you are judging the state of the U.K. purely based on the fact that you don’t like certain individuals . How the hell will Scotland survive as an independent nation ? The Scottish economy was growing at less than a quarter of the speed of the U.K. economy .... almost on the brink of recession . Sturgeon needs to concentrate on getting growth into Scotland instead of her obsession with independence.
There is an economic crisis at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic and in my opinion it is common sense to stay together to get through this .
I have no idea why Sturgeon is popular with a lot of you guys ..... she’s also made a huge mess of handling the pandemic... she basically waits for Boris and his advisers to make a decision then follows suit with a slight tweak a week later .
What about currency ??? There is absolutely no guarantee that we will be allowed to use Sterling moving forward and anybody that thinks otherwise is mistaken ..... and what makes you think the EU would welcome Scotland with open arms .... we have nothing to offer them ! And do you all really want the Euro as a currency ? .
Be very careful what you wish for ..... Nicola Sturgeon does not have Scotland’s best interests at heart .... she has her own !!
The simple fact is it doesn’t matter who runs the country because you’ll slag them off eventually.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oooft, they wont like that...

Hmm, not really the case.
Windfarms can provide all of our energy needs in theory.
And renewables have have in practise too.
The issue is base load requirements.
Renewables (yet) cannot be counted/relied upon to provide 100% of the need 100% of the time.
It is not windy/sunny 100% of the time (simplistically).
Also. it's not just the political will which is required.
You need companies who want to invest in that technology and even 100% political support does not guarantee that investment will happen anyway.
It's the Welsh rugby player who cracks me up anytime I see, hear his name.. Jake Ball
