I'm pleased for Mason and hope he does well. Don't think he should get the job full time even if he does but he should be able to take up his youth coaching job afterwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or even kept on as an assistant with the new man like Duncan Ferguson did with Ancelotti.

I’ve just seen the Daily Fail has us linked to ex-Chelsea manager Sarri. I think I would rather go into the ESL than have him in charge

The next Spurs manager will be cheap with a rep for developing our young players (sound familiar ?) Nagglesmann ain’t that.... he’ s ready for the big time. It will be Howe Or Potter

I’ll be stunned if Spurs get Nagglesmann....... Going to Spurs is a step down from Leipzig and with Bayern interested we have no chance. He will have a great young squad, better resources, a chance to win the league & CL, is from Bavaria and wont have to work for muppets like Lewis and Levy who’s reputation is seriously damaged
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The premier league is still a much bigger pull than Germany. If a young up and coming manager gets an offer from a big club like Spurs in the best league in the world, it will be very hard for him to turn down. I think it will be Nagelsmann or possibly Rodgers. Brendan’s interview yesterday spoke volumes for me.

Yes that too.

Obviously any run of good form now could just as be as a result of the relief of the players from Jose leaving.

Only with Potter, Don, not Howe.

Saw them again last night and they made Chelsea look ordinary for a lot of the time and arguably should have won.

Think it will be Nagelsmann or Rodgers mate. Got a funny feeling it could be Rodgers, I don’t know why.

If Bayern want him and they're willing to pay the 15M to get him, he's out of the picture. There's not a chance in hell of him choosing Spurs if both options are on the table. All German experts are saying we're not even in his considerations as the chance of managing not on his boyhood club but the current best team in the world is just way beyond us.

We're the average kid at school living a delusion and believing he can bag the hottest girl in class. It's just not gonna happen.

Those are the two I wanted but JN is a no go and I'm not sure we can afford to acquire BR.

There are strong rumours about some bloke at Atletico Bilbao but I've no idea who he is. Feels like another Ramos mistake to me.

I am ok with either but I don't know why Rodgers would leave Leicester on the back of potentially getting top 4 and even winning an FA Cup. That would really show that club is going places.

Levy's too shrewd to give Mason a contract based on the final 6 games of the season (plus a cup final). I think that's where United went wrong with Ole. He's improved on Jose's tenure but I still think they're a collection of talented individuals rather than a team with visible patterns of play. Bruno has made the difference on his own. They should have got Poch whilst they had a chance.

Mason isn't even a club legend. He couldn't get game time, went to Hull and had that horrific head injury. I'm glad he's getting a chance with us to cut his teeth in management but we won't give him a contract even if he wins the final 7 games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The club are no longer in a position to pick and choose managers, they are heavily in debt, or maybe you haven`t noticed that. Mason fits the bill perfectly right now, cheap as chips, used to play for Spurs, nice lad, and knows all the players. He fits the bill perfectly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs have money Sandy, tv money from the Sky Sports and BT Sports subscriptions that you pay for, hypocrite
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed. Sandy, spurs will go Nagelsmann or Rodgers in the summer. Mason won’t be getting the job full time and he’s not ready. Hopefully he does fantastic job until end of season, but mark my words, Spurs won’t be taking him on full time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don, not a chance of getting either. All the money Spurs currently have coming in will only be used to service the debt. It`s like if you have a massive mortgage with barely enough to cover it, you make it a priority, and everything else takes a dive.

I like Ryan Mason, but as a manager of Spurs? At 29? It's absolutely crazy. Il give him a chance but fack me that's as bad as it gets surely. I mean, I probably have more coaching badged than him

What happens if we win our next 7 games, take home a trophy and top 4

I wouldn't mind Potter if the top targets reject us. After doing some research I found out he is a Villa not Arsenal fan which was the only sticking point for me.

In some ways I hope we get him as i have doubts about JN and think Brendan will reject us right now anyway. Plus Potter will be cheaper too and money is going to be tight for a while.

Plus we need to be more home grown, and a home grown manager should help with that.

Brighton were much better than Chelsea last night. Lost count of the times I’ve seen Brighton play really well this season but not win due to their lack of quality players in certain areas - despite the weak personnel they are well drilled and coached. I do think Potter has the potential to do very well with better resources available to him, he’s young and up & coming. I’d have no problem with us giving him a try - much more so than Marcelino or Howe. I am certain that Nagelsmann and Rodgers will not happen, financially or status wise it’s not achievable for us and Potter is an ideal alternative.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The biggest sign that he would be an excellent choice for us is that he's not one of Levy's first choices.

Not saying that Potter would be my first choice but Brighton play some great stuff and are a much better team that their Prem postition suggests.

They have dominated many of the games that they have lost/drawn but have really struggled to score which shouldn't be a problem with the strike force he would inherit at Spurs.

Thinking about these managers we are linked to and even going forward with signing players, isn't the fact that Levy is the owner of one of the breakaway clubs and the rest of the 14 club owners/chairmen are reportedly peed off with what Levy and the 5 others have done, going to make negotiations for potential new managers/players difficult? Especially with Levy's reputation already.

I mean trying to get Rodgers or Nuno. He could easily be told where to go over this even if they were attainable. Potter too if that was an option.

Depends how much Levy offers and how much the manager in question wants to come us. They could request to speak to us after speaking to their agent. I'd imagine there are plenty if ways round it...

It doesn't just come down to Levy sure, but some of these managers might even think twice even if they were interested.

Might mean we end up with one of the managers that wouldn't cause much fuss like a Howe or Benitez. I hope not but the scenery for us and the other 5 clubs looks a little different than it did 48 hours ago.

Still not for me. I’m convinced Spurs will have either Nagelsmann or Rodgers by next season. Nobody thought we would get Mourinho due to his high wage demands and we did, so I see no problem in Spurs forking out for a top manager if they want too. It won’t be Potter.

You forget the compo to Jose and it will cost us around £15-17m to get JN. That's at least £30m just there Don. We are not Man City or Chelsea....That £30m will more than likely effect the transfer budget.

Might want to lower your expectations Don just in case...
