Laporte challenge on ball when he never touched Kane?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No mate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He played the ball first.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What on earth are you talking about? The fouls being discussed are the ones on Lucas, nothing to do with Kane

If laporte had been booked for the first one, which he should have been, do you think he'd have made the second challenge? I don't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Isn't it amazing that so many people like the OP are so stupid not to consider this rather crucial point?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok great point. So Laporte wouldn’t have made the second challenge of already on a yellow. In which case Lucas would’ve been through and we’d have had a 3 on 2 attacking position, and therefore definitely scored.

It’s easy to predict when you just make up scenarios you like isn’t it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Straw man point....the op and other thick ksnts are saying he should have been sent off. No he shouldn't, but yes he should have had a yellow card for the first offense.

Anyway,what a surprise,another spurs shat show
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, it’s a straw man argument, which is exactly your argument. Well done on spotting the similarity.

However, Spurs probably should’ve lost that game by about ten goals so it’s hard to complain too much...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not a straw man argument. You can't be sent off for a 2nd yellow card when you haven't been booked in the first place. Feck me Spurs fans are thick ksntz.

City cheat at every level at every opportunity. They are a joke club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How is it cheating when it's the refs decision??

Look up the definition of cheating

It is such a valid point to make. It is one reason why Cash (Aston Villa) getting sent off resulted in a lot of criticism (because of his own stupidity).

It’s not a given that had Laporte been booked for the first challenge that he wouldn’t have made a second challenge worthy of a booking. But it isn’t common for footballers to make this mistake, hence why it doesn’t happen often, and hence why, when it does, it results in the player being derided (a la Cash for Villa).

Culer won’t understand this though. So it’s a point that is wasted on his simple mind.

Aww you’re not good at this are you. Get back to your ‘logical fallacies for beginners’ book so you understand what a straw man argument is.

Spurs fans are saying he should’ve been sent off for two bookable offences. The counter argument in this very thread says ‘he wouldn’t have committed the second offence if he’d have been penalised for the first’. That’s creating an alternate scenario which is not the one being criticised and is just conjuncture.

But anyway, enjoy your win. Bad refereeing decision aside it was well deserved.

No the counter argument is you can't be sent off for a 2nd bookable offence if you have not been previously booked. Hence instantly dismissing the claims that he should have been sent off.

If they'd played the final on it's original date, City wouldn't have had one eye on next weeks Champions League game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hence it explains why Laporte wasn't sent off?

posted on 25/4/21

Actually, PhilSpurs, the alternate scenario is suggesting that had Laporte been booked twice, and sent off, “no way would City have won” (OP’s words).

That is the very basis of this thread created by the OP.

The entire thread is intent on discussing an alternate scenario.

If this keeps happening between now and the end of the season then I will contact Lucy Powell. It’s gotten that bad that things need to be put in place to stop City being handed points and trophies by refereeing decisions.

If Reguilón had quite rightly been sent off, Id still fancy City's chances 10 v 10.

Same goes for the Spurs LB

Should have been booked for the challenge on Foden.

Referee was consistent in that regards

I can’t believe how many people are just accepting that Spurs lost instead of pointing out that the referee helped City yet again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whereas Reguilon who got away without a card for a clearly yellow card worthy 'tackle' on Foden wouldn't have been sent off for his tackle on KDB? Or perhaps neither would have made the second tackle?

posted on 25/4/21

I know what you’re doing Culer.

You’re creating a narrative and convincing yourself that it’s true.

It’s not.

Now, go back to making comments on old threads. Like the one you did on mine saying City had bottled it because they went 1-0 down to Villa after 30 seconds.

You could have come back to that thread after the game had finished (City winning the game), and at least acknowledged that you jumped in a bit too quick.

But you didn’t did you?

And here you are again trying to make a point (or rather just trying to wind people up).

Like people stating that a 3 on 2, in the attacker's favour, would mean they would DEFINITELY score.

I think Laporte did Spurs a favour there. He gave Spurs fans some excuses instead of focusing on their sh1 te show in the final again.
