on a serious note, pleased for their keeper.

always felt when you play them if he is having a good day you will struggle to score.

He's a weird keeper. I've seen him have games where I think he looks better than the level he's playing at then other games where he looks Sunday league.

In previous games he has a habit of pulling off some worldies then switching off late on and throwing one in. He was good last night though and after he came up for the set piece and scored/assisted you sort of felt it would be his night.

i agree mate, we have gone there and seen forrest score 4 first half goals but then other games where we score late and i think "keeper doesn't deserve to lose today"

Aye it was their keeper's day for sure.

Said last night but I'd be more disappointed going out if Celtic were still in, but I don't mind seeing "wee teams" win competitions, it's healthy for our game. I'd be quite happy to see one of the other teams win the league too tbh, but don't see it happening any time soon.

Footballers in that situation annoy me though. These are guys who are meant to be elite and in the last minute of injury time of extra time the keeper comes up and no one picks him up because they didn't practise for that.

Surely someone sees the giant in the 6 yard box unmarked and thinks it might be worth at least covering the space. Footballers are so robotic sometimes that common sense goes out the window. It's like when Warburton said they didn't mark Dembele for a corner because they didn't normally have 6 in the box and only prepared to mark 5 players. It's ridiculous how mothered players are that they need to be told exactly what to do in each situation.

Rangers soft underbelly exposed last night. A bit more mental toughness is required in this team.

Good players but a couple of wimps and a couple prone to switching off when it matters. Pretty gutted about last night, felt like we would go on and win the cup when Tavernier scored.

You'd have thought an experienced keeper like McGregor would have been screaming at them to pick him up. Rangers maybe lacking a wee bit in on-field leadership in that moment.

Not like we could miss him, he's wearing a bright green keeper top and about 6ft 6 or something

Just amazes me, the players must have seen him charge up about 80 yards in to the box and then he's just standing there and no one thinks to pick him up. I mean you can leave the guy at the edge of the box or deep at the back post or even McGregor could take a couple of feet out to be ready to punch clear if the ball is landing in that area. Just stuff you don't expect to see at that level.

No major revolution required in the summer.

Out of the players that might raise good money i would sell Barasic and Morelos first. I'm also worried we might get an offer for Kent we can refuse.

As much as Barasic has a great delivery, he's a poor defender and too soft for Scottish football. I wonder how many more 50/50s he will bail out of this season. I hope we are looking at getting another LB in either way.

Morelos, excellent player at his best but his form and finishing are erratic, i would settle for a more consistent finisher even if it meant no more seeing him ragdoll a team on his own from time to time. I'm also worried how poor Roofe has been since the turn of the year but i'll put that down to the foot coming off the gas.

On a positive note Wright looks a baller, should be starting with Kent. Hagi can work his way back into the team, not put in a performance in an important match in too long as good as all his assists were earlier in the season.

LB, CM, CF all i think we need. A replacement for Kent if it comes to that.

confusing though, if a player drops his man to pick up the keeper then he runs a risk anyway.

imo mcregor should deal with it

Barisic is one we could replace for the money we would get and I agree his abilities going forward mask some defensive deficiencies. If we didn't need to sell I wouldn't advocate it but if we're resigned to losing a couple of players this summer he's one who I don't think would have as big an impact as others.

Morelos though is borderline irreplaceable in this team. Even when he's not at it he causes teams problems. Missed a couple of chances last night but whatever striker we bring in will do the same. Bottom line is over a season he guarantees you goals, guarantees you a shift and guarantees defenders will not have an easy game. Think he's the only striker since Rod Wallace 22 years ago who has hit 30 goals for us in a season too and given the number of strikers we have had in that time it tells you how hard that will be to replace.

Roofe is one I would move on for the right offer though. He's been a good signing and done a job for us this year but if we were offered more than we paid I'd take it no problem.

I think Barisic is quality, but 8 would be looking at doig

So would i

And so will Celtic.

Doig is already being looked at by several clubs down South which means unfortunately we probably won't get a look in. I think Ron Gordon is already licking his lips at the prospect of cashing in there in the summer.

Don't rule out the boy Maxwell though on loan at QotS. Maybe another season or so away but he's been a star there and already played for the first team in a couple of friendlies. Think the club have decent hopes for him.

All through the close season that's all we will be fed by the media.
Both rangers and celtic interested in the same player.
Rangers interested in a forward from Cameroon with celtic keeping an eye on the situation and vice versa.

Maxwell is deffo a good prospect.

He doesnt have Pattersons physique and he isnt quite as quick as Patterson but he is arguably better going forward - he was more of a winger at Falkirk who we nabbed him from.

The biggest difference for me is Patterson has taken to first team football at Rangers with ease. When Maxwell came in to the first team in Dubai I think it was he looked very nervy.

Hopefully his successful loan at QotS has helped him mature and grow in confidence. He has the ability and now just needs to show he has the mentality.
