Pogba

It's no coincidence that he's a better player now he's playing in the final 3rd. Because he's tall and black, people considered him as some type of Viera clone, somebody who could excel going box to box.

Although he's played well for France in a pivot and good in patches for United in the same position, he's in fact a natural attacking midfielder and this is where he's brilliant.

You only have to look at is numbers and form playing in the final 3rd in Ole's first few months at United. He had less impact on the game when he was pushed back into the pivot at the beginning of the 19/20 season.

It's possible Ole may buy a specialist DM to facilitate Pogba and Bruno playing as twin eights. If the new rumours about Sancho are correct we'll have 6 players in front of our defence capable of winning us major titles.

Sancho, Rice and Varane are on my wish list and all are possible...

Sancho - Maybe, if we can get him for a reasonable price and we can't get a CF.

Rice - A good player but not as better than McTominay as the price tag would suggest.

Varane - Yes. Be a quality addition

Pogba from the left doesn't work all the time though. It did Vs Roma so all of a sudden everyone thinks this is the answer. It's too short sighted. Every game is different and some games you need more width.

Didn't he play in cup Vs Leicester and was absolutely rubbish?

Rashford from the left for me still. Pogba and Bruno inside and go and buy a world class DM. Fred and Mctomminay are decent squad players.

A good team will control Pogba playing as a false left winger as it's not his natural position.

yes, and no. though it is clear by now that you see what you want to see, so i don't expect you to back down now.

the MEN did have this to say about fred vs leicester:

Sometimes you watch Fred and draw the conclusion he can't pass, can't tackle and can't shoot. Tantamount to a 12th man for Leicester; assisted Iheanacho and stood off Youri Tielemans. 1

but no, pogba was not "absolutely rubbish" vs leicester in the cup.

Pogba is class, no doubt.

Yep. Quality player when used correctly. Hope they can get him tied down to another deal and get on with winning stuff.

I'm all for keeping Pogba because we are clearly despite what anyone says a better team with him than without him and he takes some of the creative workload off Bruno but an issue for me is he doesn't have a fixed position in this team.

If we by some miracle actually address the right side of our attack at long last, Rashford will surely be confined to the left side where he should be and if that's the case, that leaves us with having to use Pogba centrally which is hard to envisage us doing frequently because of our tendency to favour a more cautious midfield set up, especially in the harder games.

If we were better at recruiting and squad building, I might lean towards letting Pogba go and bringing in players more suited to playing deeper in midfield and just add more creativity in the wide areas which we need to do anyway but the problem is, I don't trust us to build a better functioning midfield which excels at both defending and when we attack.

Comedy reading these comments here. If he wants to go by all means let him. If Paul Labile Pogba wants to stay you bloody keep him.

Talking about Pogba, look at the end of the video Pogba being called for a doping test again. Interesting to hear the players keep saying get 1 more at 4-2 and 5-2. That is the mentality we need and Scott seems like he is a leader about us not conceding.

What on earth has that got to do with anything? Fred is rubbish.

I have much higher expectations of Pogba because he's far more talented.

And Pogba was awful in that quarter final. Wasn't alone by any means but let's not pretend he's great every game which was the point I was making. He isn't.

literally no one has ever claimed that "he's great every game". guess what, none of our players are. in fact, there isn't a player in the world who is.

most match ratings for the fa cup match had pogba at 6 out of 10, one of our better attacking players.

so if you want to persist with claiming that he was "awful" that says more about you than it does about him.
