indy wont happen

i'll vote for it, but we won't get it.

more people are voting for non indy parties than pro indy parties and i don't believe there are enough pro indy labour / tory voters to make up the difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree.

And watch Boris offer to pump billions into Scotland. Be a brave Nic to knock that back and it will come at an agreement.

If Scots see significant improvement and are being seen to be take seriously and heard then the “don’t knows” and those wavering will accept that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Given how the majority of Scottish MPs are treated in Westminster by the UK government it would require a huge psychological shift from the UK government.

It’s already on record as to that’s what’s being offered.

Keep voting till you like the result
----------------------------------------------------------------------
do you mean keep fighting for the things you belief in?

I'm sure if the brexit result was 48%/52% the other way they would have accepted the result and never brought up the EU again

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just like we're sure you'll recognise that there's more votes for pro union parties than pro independence.

You guys are so consistent
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a bit like celtic fans crowing that even if rangers have won the league and even if they go undefeated a bit they’ve done better in a previous year.

And didn’t Boris get his huge WM majority with only 38% of the votes?

No it’s not. It’s a fact.

Plus it’s a very senseless summary anyway. There will be some who voted SNP who don’t want independence.

Haven’t met any yet mind

There are many that vote SNP that would just like Scotland to be an equal partner and / or not be neglected and not have the PM of the union run his mouth off about how much he dislikes us. It is more than just money. Throwing money at a problem is easy. Solving it is way tougher.

And Broon can fook right off. It was him and his tartan comrades that advised Blair that devo would put indy to rest so he played a big part in stoking the current stand off situation.

It's not breaking, it is 2 weeks old. And you didn't even bother to mention that the fiscal balance was even worse for Wales, NI, and North England plus only marginally worse than the Midlands.

Great result for Scottish conservatives.
The SNP will be disappointed they failed to get the outright majority they had targeted. That was their mandate for indyref2 and its gone now.
Tactical voting amongst the unionists did for them.

What gets me is that over 850k people voted for SNP in regional lists they had no hope of getting seats in. If they'd all switched over to Green, who had no hope in any of the constituencies, we'd be looking at 17 more Green MSPs, 7 fewer Labour MSPs, and 10 fewer Tories.

Of course, we'd be even better off still if people just didn't vote for the fvcking Tories in the first place.

Quite.

Look how much our country has progressed under the SNP for God knows how many years.

However, we have a string of 3 Tory seats stretched across the border. Clearly the SNP don't allay the fears of these voters and I understand their concerns. Not sure NS can do much about it if England won't negotiate in advance again as seems likely?

I did think that the map of seats won did look like a re-enforcement of Hadrians Wall...
