Not bad for a reserve defence for 30+ games this season.
......
Pretty sure you had both your full backs and GK for most of the season.
It was the magnitude of the drop-off, though, which was so arresting; the previous season (before lockdown), many critics and fans were saying this Liverpool side was the best ever in the PL, akin to something like Pele's 1970 Brazil side. From those dizzy heights to losing home games back-to-back like Liverpool did at the beginning of this year, that's some crash. Compare that with Leicester who overcame huge obstacles to be crowned champions and who no-one ever considered to be the best team ever. Liverpool's 10 game run at the end of the season spared some of their blushes, but -30 points on last season is still a big dip in quality, in large part due to their defence issues caused by injuries admittedly.

Your Roy got a bit ahead of himself back in the winter, didn't he.
So you're the third worst defending champions, after Chelsea and Leicester?
Anyway, it's not really fair to include one season wonders like Blackburn, Leicester and Liverpool in this because no one was really expecting them to follow up their freak season with any sort of achievement in the following season.
Considering how bad your squad is and how much you’ve overachieved in recent years. This season wasn't so bad, expectations just got a bit too high amongst your supporters.

I love the one season wonder argument considering Liverpool won the CL then the PL the following season.
That stat really upsets them. Just look at how they are reacting đđđđđ

I also like how they blame the injuries, yet (excluding the 7-2 game in which they had a full strength side) only conceded 2 more goals than last season. Only 3 fewer clean sheets too.
Main issue was scoring 17 fewer goals, despite having more shots!

I don’t see what’s so funny? Your first 11 is good, outside of that is poor. Klopp has done amazingly well to extract what he could within his budget. But the drop off was inevitable, Jurgen can only do so much. I think you will be loitering around 4-7th the next few years unless you invest heavily which is unlikely in the current climate.
I love how upset people get about Liverpool
At least Mourinho has 2 good seasons at big clubs (Chelsea, Inter, Real etc). Klopp can only manage one before losing the dressing room. Top managers do it in multiple seasons. Not just one.
Not the worst, but one of the worst

We've shown what we can do in the last 10 games, even before some of our key players return. One or two quality additions this summer and we'll be ready for another title push. Our squad is largely fine.
