Very poor keeping.

I don't see where the controversy is here, it was a goal, it crossed the line, the replay showed it cross the line. Doesn't matter where it crosses or when.

Lampard isn't the same level as Gerrard and Scholes imo in an overall sense, although I'd say he had a much bigger impact in the final third than those two

Goal line technology is where it should end though, don't want anymore interference in the game

Shocking keeping, shot wasn't even going in! Seen how Benzemas shot hits the post, comes bouncing a yard off the line, and the keeper fumbles it across. In essence an OG?

Yeah, they were all quite different players, even though they played the same position, if have Scholes just ahead of Gerrard just ahead of Lampard, but I think Lampard and Scholes would have been a better partnership for England

Good save

I think the difference between Lampard, Scholes and Gerrard is that Lampard to be at his very best requires 2 other midfielders with him, that's why he is behind them on overall ability

Would not have swapped him for either though, bigger impact in the final third

Incredible curve from Valbuena.

Scholes could have been used like Pirlo for England IMO, sitting deep controlling the temp like he did for United as he got older, with Lampard, Beckham and Hargreaves ahead of him

posted on 15/6/14

Yeah that would have been good, but England always used a 4-4-2, which clearly didn't suit our best players

I don't think we ever looked good enough in midfield against the better sides, had we put someone behind Gerrard and Lampard we could have done a lot more, no doubt for me

capello tried barry behind them two, fail

Why would you say Tiago and Schneiderlin don't work too well?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't say that, just think Marcelo or Ndj would offer more energy than Tiago.

Hargreaves was the best English midfielder when fit.

Hargreaves

Such a good player torn apart with injuries

posted on 15/6/14

Hargreaves was awesome, we missed him so much when he got injured, if we had him in 2009 we might have stood a chance vs Barcelona

posted on 15/6/14

hargreaves was a top top player but for had an injury never seen before
