Big blow to Everton.

Who can they get next to continue spending more money than they ever have to finish lower than the Moyes era year in year out?

They should try the West Ham manager.

Everton and Carlo have gotten a fairly easy ride in the press compared to some. Everton have spent huge in recent years.

carlo is a manager that gets the best out of what he has.
He wouldn't make miracles happen and transform a team to something that they are not but you can trust him to do a good job.

I actually feel this could be a very good deal for Everton if it does go through.

Has he done a good job at Everton though? I wouldn’t say so.

It will be even worse when Ancelotti takes DCL with him to be the new Benzema.

I don't think it would've taken a miracle to guide Everton higher than 10th this season tbf given the position they found themselves in throughout the season, and the investment in the squad in recent years.

No denying he has won plenty but the league record is fairly modest considering the clubs he has managed. Only one league title at that great Milan side.

Not really sure how you can think he is overrated. He was won league titles in 4 different countries and has as many CL titles as we do as a club.

Which is fair but he also only won a single title at that great Milan side. He won titles at Bayern and PSG and while none are gimmes you can’t deny the odds are strongly in your favour. At Chelsea he had by far the best squad and still only got over the line on the last day and lost out to SAF the next season who had a far inferior squad.

Clearly a good manager but slightly overrated. Just my opinion.

I know there isn’t an abundance of top managers available right now but it is slightly bizarre.

Some bang average managers are working, ask United fans

He may well turn out to be bang average but 3rd and 2nd in his 2 full seasons suggests it’s not time to right him. Poch got huge praise for doing that.

He is a multiple times CL and league winner. He was also the manager of the best Chelsea side I saw in my career 09-10.
Granted he is past his best and I wouldn't prefer him to be United manager next but he almost got top 4 with Everton with Calvert Lewin and Richarlison in attack

Pochettino possibly, Conte, Flick was available etc. There are probably more flying about now than what there has been before.

He must love Moyes, who genuinely was pretty close with West Ham.

Ancelotti does deserve criticism for his time at everton as a whole, but tbf at times Everton have played better under him than I've ever seen them play since I started following football in the late 90s

Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano
Carlo Ancelotti is now considered ‘one step away’ from joining Real Madrid. His agents are now working to terminate his current contract with Everton - it’s the last step then the deal will be completed. Ancelotti won’t create any problem on personal terms with Real ⚪️ #Real #EFC

That was very quick, amazed Everton just let him go like that
