Interesting reading this thread.
There is zero cases in Perth Western Australia where I live, and it's because our premier has been strict with closing the borders and implementing quarantine.
We get the odd case slipping through here and there, but we then lockdown until zero cases. Takes about 2 weeks. Then everything returns to normal again. We have had 4 x of these lockdowns.
Sydney premier on the other hand made a right mess of things , and Sydney is now on lockdown for 2 x weeks already , and still has 40+ new cases today
The drawback here is that there is low take up of the vaccine, because people feel so safe and things looks so normal. No masks etc, very few lockdowns.
Hope the Covid issue in the UK gets sorted soon, now that most people are vaccinated.
By the way, interesting how 55 has cropped up a few times this year.
55th title for Rangers.

The majority of folk are already vaccinated. 99% of deaths are over 40, or more importantly over 60. So why restrict absolutely everyone any longer, what’s the point in living.
Deaths are a handful a day, far less than any other major cause of death.
It’s an absolute nonsense to say a death from covid is worse than a death from any other death by a major cause. The argument for not opening up is that Covid is not going away - which is nonsense as that should be the reason to open up when hospitalisation is so low.
