Given that only members could have brought the original tickets you’d think it would be fairly easy to identify should the club want to investigate further

You could try to check everyone’s ID matched the name in the ticket. But we don’t have the staff on and I don’t know how long it would take. Than there’s all the people that will share a season ticket, which I don’t see a problem with either.

What really needs to happen is that it’s made illegal to resell a ticket above the original price. Resale sites are allowed to add on a booking fee up to 5% but the seller cannot profit.

Pretty sure it's illegal to resell football tickets full stop, no matter what the price is.

I see no reason why they shouldn’t be sold for the sake value. No one can profit at least and there’s plenty of legit reasons as to why you might not be able to make it to a game. At least someone else can then.

However if there is a law in place now it definitely isn’t policed. Although I don’t know of any.

Disgraceful that members are selling them on! If caught doing it they should have their membership revoked immediately!

Mad that it’s so easy to buy and sell tickets online then isn’t it! I had no idea the police had a law that could prevent it happening.

I’m aware and a great policy. That’s all that we need at Leeds.

Should still be able to give your ticket to your neighbour though. And would be nice for Leeds not to have to go through a load more checks on entry to the ground because it would take forever.

If tickets were prevented from being sold on the websites like they are then it would make it much more difficult for ticket touts to make profit and therefore make it not worth the risk to buy them in the first place.

If the problem does grow at Leeds then the club will have to do something but it will be a nightmare at the ground so hopefully doesn’t need to get that far.

You should be receiving emails regularly as a member too.

Only case your a member that dosent make you a fan.

If you can sell the tickets you get for each game at 2 or 3 times their value, potentially more for the big games and derbies, you can easily cover your membership cost.

Don't look at membership as a "fan thing" see it more as a "business expense" for these people.

And tbf he has responded on twitter to the tweets hasn't he.

The touts will just buy more false memberships, acquire more tickets. Repeat. They have been doing it for years with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Sccuummmm. Easy to try and deter but impossible to stop.

I can do 2 tickets for Everton for £398 if anyone is interested?
