I preferred the good old days when there was food on the shelves and we could afford to pay for our heating.
Just sayin…
Friday night in Ibiza that good?
Are you implying the choice between the out of his depth misogynist racist ignorant entitled lying buffoon which no empathy or class who will fill the cabinet with vile incompetents v the out of his depth but nice and pleasant person whose cabinet were never 100% behind him but all his ideas polled way over 80% with the electorate was never the "rock and a hard place" some claimed?
One of the biggest issues here is that Brexit gave more power to this Tory government.
While I was always against it regardless, it couldn't have come at a worse time and under a worse leadership.
Beyond stealing the right to move and work freely overseas much of the damage could have been mitigated by sound governing. In reality the UK has the complete opposite of that, in fact if you consider officials who are bought and paid for by unscrupulous business as corrupt then the UK is currently under a corrupt, self interested and often downright nasty government.
All while there's a global pandemic also going on
Its a complete shambles.
the shutting down of the economy directly after Brexit due to the pandemic has hidden the reality that now the economy is back to its pre-covid size since restrictions were lifted this summer the full delayed force of Brexit is starting to hit us.
Boris now trying to get the European truck drivers who left the UK at Brexit to return to the UK to drive our food and goods lorries and petrol tankers to Tescos to fill empty shelves and fuel pumps at 3 x the wages they were originally being paid pre Brexit.
Hopefully he does the same to the Nurses who left after Brexit cos our NHS really, really needs them back.
"While I was always against it regardless, it couldn't have come at a worse time and under a worse leadership."
Unfortunately it's such a b@tsh!t crazy idea that had zero upside only a truly abhorrent self serving governement could push forward with it.

one of the arguments they have put to Scotland before holding a "devisive" referendum was to focus on recovery which given the absolute kicking they gave the nation right in the middle of the pandemic is laughable.
GVT predicting that the serious illness detection screening backlog (cancer heart disease etc) could take 10 years to clear due to staff and funding shortages post Brexit/pandemic. apart this being morally obscene, how long does Boris and his mates think that somebody can actually survive with undetected cancer? Its a lot less than 10 years.
Brexit was a sham, full of lies, full of hate mongering, 52% of thick inbr3d electorate to blame. I also blame dodgy Dave for ever agreeing to a referendum.

Dave was also to blame for not bothering to campaign to remain due to arrogantly misjudging how peed of the public were with the EU.
Brexit shouldn’t have happened but it did. People now need to get over it and get on with life. And make sure they hold Boris accountable at the next election. And not f@ck up voting again.

but he had to agree to a referendum because the Tory party were losing voters to UKIP and with them it's always party before country.
self serving chunts that they are
I drove to Tesco this afternoon and there was gridlock for a mile caused by people queuing to panic buy up with petrol. Shell and BP petrol stations were closed.
Inside the store the shelves were almost empty. No fresh fruit and veg.
Plus the CO2 crisis causing meat and bottled water and canned beer shortages.
These are problems that wont be solved overnight so getting on with our lives isn,t going to happen soon. It will affect Christmas supplies and this is the GVTs own predictions.
Inflation going to reach 4pc and a winter of discontent on the horizon.
Its a shambles.

I actually wonder if Boris actually focused on making Brexit a complete disaster would it magically become successful

TBF Boris said our Children wont go hungry this winter.
I think he stole this from Stalin who made similar reassurances to Soviets in the 1940s
The looks on Brexiteers faces, like Farage, when Boris has to sanction thousands of work visas to get lorry drivers to come back to UK next week will be absolutely priceless.
It's almost like being part of the gang was better all along eh? 😂

Brexit has failed when/if this happens.
Now Merkle has gone we should rejoin the EU and run it ourselves just as Maggie invisaged.
Brexit shouldn’t have happened but it did. People now need to get over it and get on with life

? Crazy talk.
Democracy didn’t die with Brexit. Concerns were voiced, which have now become reality.
If Brexit shouldn’t have happened and it’s been nothing but bad news. There shouldn’t be a dogmatic stance to keep the status quo.
It can be changed
The fact that such a massive decision was allowed to go ahead with such a tiny majority is ridiculous anyway. Something of that scale should have had to genuinely be a good majority, like 60% upwards.
