Wolves manager Bruno Lage also addressed newspaper stories linking Adama Traore and Ruben Neves with moves away from Molineux.

"When you want to do the next step and every time you sell your best players, the next step never happens," Lage said.

"The main point is to continue with the same players but if one big transfer appears you cannot say no. The transfer window will go, you never know if something happens in the last minute, you have to decide what is best for the club and the player."

So almost certainly no, but maybe yes.

And probably at the last minute so we can't replace them.

We don’t want to sell anyone but no player is irreplaceable

Chester FC are considered an English football club and after all Chester is in England. But the border with Wales runs through Chester and through the football stadium. And although their ticket office is in England, their pitch is in Wales.

In England, football clubs can play in front of crowds but in Wales games are currently being played behind closed doors. Chester had crowds of just over 2,000 at two games over Xmas. And now the Welsh government intend prosecuting them for breaking their covid regulations

See Mike Ashley and, amongst others, Jez Moxey are considering a bid for Derby County. I reckon between them they could ruin that club.

I heard Chester’s chairman interviewed on the radio this morning, to be fair he spoke with quite good humour, the entrance to the ground and the car park is in England, and “the green stuff we play on” is in Wales, he is having to deal with two different police forces, the interviewer jokingly suggested they could put a big screen in the car park and have fans in and the Chairman said this was one option suggested
Devolution clearly not made life easy for the club

Had seen Ashley was bidding, is Jez party of that team or another? Can't see him having the personal wealth to lead a bid himself.

Don't know the full facts behind Newcastle, but I'm not sure Mike Ashley was responsible for the whole debacle.

Ashley and Moxey. What’s the opposite of ‘dream team’

posted on 8/1/22

Apparently Ashley had a track record of promising managers a new player if one player was sold them reneging on that , think Keegan had litigation for constructive dismissal, but I suspect the fans would not have liked Ashley whatever he did

Ashley and Moxey part of the same consortium

Just seen that for the FA Cup we can use 5 subs from the 9 we can name. Have we got 20 players?

Can't say I would be too interested to go and watch Sheffield Utd, especially if we put out a semi reserve team. Strange to me that the normal 30000 + don't go, oh yeah, same reason as me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If I was still in the UK I would grab a ticket for the cup game. I see it as an opportunity to see some of the young talent busting a gut to impress Bruno.

Gem,
260 mile round trip, pouring with rain and I mean pelting down, 3 degrees tops, I'm glad I decided not to.
How's the weather in Majorca. ?

The match is tomorrow not today when the forecast is dry and 7 degrees. Are you saying if it was 20 degrees and sunny you would have gone?

About 1500 tickets left in the home areas tomorrow. As it’s a cup tie Sheffield Utd we’re entitled to 4,500 tickets and are allocated the lower tier of the Steve Bull Stand and the North Bank quadrant. But they have sold less than 2,000 of those tickets so there will be quite a lot of empty seats.

Afobe has opened the scoring for Millwall after the Palace keeper made a complete howler losing possession in his 6 yard box to present Benik with an open goal

posted on 8/1/22

Didn't realise Afobe was on the comeback trail. Five in the league and a cup goal ain't so bad.

If Bruno is serious with his comments about the FA Cup, then I don't see too many changes.
