Just like Chris Wood
Chris Wood’s underlying stats are phenomenal. He is in the top 4 players in the PL for XG.
Didn't know it was 20 mil. Bit desperate.
As long as they go down and we can take St. Max off them though I'm happy.
Is 20m really that much nowadays?

It is when the guy they’re buying isn’t really gonna be that much better than what they have.
Their fans dreamt of Auba and instead they get Chris Wood. Can’t wait to see True Geordie kicking off 😹

I suspect that weakening a relegation rival accounted for a good £15m of that investment.

Bit desperate from Newcastle but I think Wood is a better player than people give him credit for.
They are not the kind of owners who will settle for poor performances and lack of goals. They have a track record for dealing with people quite harshly if they get on the wrong side of them.
So I can see the owners getting rid of the dead Wood by any means possible at the end of the season, if he doesn't perform.

£20m for Chris Wood sounds like a good value to be honest. He's got 10 or more league goals in every season he's been at Burnley. It's worth a reminder that Welbeck hasn't even got to 10 league goals in any season.
Bit weird if Burnley let him go to another team fighting relegation though.
Wood would start for united.
