He shouldn't have been playing Arsenal until the 23rd April.

Oh well.

Not to mention the players they've lost to afcon

I can’t keep up anymore. Clubs should just be forced to play regardless, even if they field under 23s.

Same rules been applied to Arsenal as anyone else. They take into affect the impact of Covid on the squad as a whole, not just the current number of active cases.

Average age of 25.9. A whole 1.9 years older than the Arsenal XI that beat Newcastle 2-0.
In fact we have only once named a line up with an average age greater than Leeds used against West Ham - a 5-0 defeat to City

But, yeah, we should follow Leeds and "play the kids"

Most of the teams shouldn't.

But when arsenal do it, the media loses their minds and everybody else follows.

Couldn’t care less if its arsenal personally. Fans have to rearrange everything to make the games last minute that they’re forced to pay for even when it a cancellled the day before the game.

Well said Busby, nobody thinks of the fans.

And I thought the rule was you had to play the game even if you had six out injured.

The rule is 13 players and a goalkeeper I think. Arsenal didnt have that.

Liverpool did but they conveniently had a bunch of statistically unlikely false positives.

Probably did Conte and Spurs a favour.

He should thank them.

Arsenal had a fair case.

‘The rule is 13 players and a goalkeeper I think. Arsenal didnt have that.’

So 1 covid case meant Arsenal didn’t have enough players?

So Arsenal didn't have 13 players at the club who were fit? Assume they will all not miraculously recover by Thursday then?

We had 1 COVID case at the time (we have since had 2 more), injuries and a few players at afcon. I think we've had about 13 COVID cases since November/decemberish. This will undoubtedly affect training and injuries over that time period. Not that it matters, because the rule isn't strictly COVID cases.

Leicester and wolves have had games called off for similar. I don't see why the media are painting us as the devil.
