Get pogba back to play on the left. Will make us create a lot more

But slows us down far more.

It’s a twofold problem because I think they make more runs when he’s in the team as he can pick them out.

Telles being unable to run past a man doesn’t help either. His crossing isn’t good enough from the deep areas he always crosses from. Shaw’s ability to drive into the final third makes it harder for defenders to clear the cross, and gives the options of cut backs. Obviously he’s not good enough this season either, so needs to pull his finger out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are times when he could get closer before crossing, but instead crosses from where he is like Beckham—but he's no Beckham. It's actually weird seeing a Brazilian play like that.

It's unfortunate that Telles hasn't been able to do himself justice at United in attack. Maybe he never will but he's not alone in that respect.

He's looked a lot more one dimensional and less purposeful than he did at Porto and nowhere as threatening with his final ball.

Never watched him at Porto but possibly to do with playing in a far inferior league?

I’ve been disappointed with Telles’ attacking output. It doesn’t help we don’t get him into more dangerous areas, though.

I just think he doesn’t quite have the legs for it.

We’d be better with Pogba on the left, especially if we get Shaw back. I don’t know it Ragnick will play him there, though. He spoke about him playing in midfield the other month.

Possibly but then he performed very well in the Champions League as well so I don't think it was down to the quality he was playing against domestically.

Put things in perspective. 7th beat 4th, got a clean sheet, and severely restricted their chances of scoring. Some encouraging passages of play whilst showing the whole watching world those areas in which we remain poor. In addition, we coped reasonably well with a very well organised Moyes team.

We’re good enough for sixth this season - but no more than that. And that’s about all we deserve. Take it.

Well yeah that’s part of the problem. But he take more risks if we could cover our full backs properly and build up play and sustain attacks better than we do.

Some on here will accuse me of having an agenda but I do feel we need to try a run of games without Ronaldo starting.

I appreciate what he did in the CL and have no agenda but he’s not offering enough in league games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

100% agree with this, except I do have an agenda.

Pogba is our best passer and is badly needed back!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He always becomes a much better player in the minds of our fans when he's having one of his long layoffs. When he's back he reminds you he's not all that amazing.

He definitely has the best passing range of any player in our squad. That's undeniable. Trouble is that's when he is on his A game and committed to the cause. Other times he loses the ball in bad areas and gifts other teams goals.

It's always a fine line with Pogba.

The thing that heartened me most today was we finally seen some semblance of control that Ralf has been talking about. By no means a great performance and we still look lacking in attack, but West Ham are a decent team and having a very good season and they never really troubled us at all today.

On Pogba, he’s a talented player, more so than most of our players but I really just don’t see any justification for playing him. Other than bits and pieces he hasn’t really delivered for United and he’s leaving in the summer. Also he will slow the play down and expect a lot of it to go through him, the same thing people have been wanting Ronaldo dropped for.

Yeah the problem is we've drawn too many games against teams we should be beating. We've played 4 games against our main rivals for a top 4 spot and won them all. It's the results against teams further down the table that have undone us.

And with City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all away still to come, I think you're probably right in your prediction of 6th place

We were good enough to comfortably deserve top 4 last season, then got worse (while adding players and not losing any significant ones). I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that we can recover to at least the top-4 form that the current players exhibited less than a year ago, in which case we're close enough to make up ground.
