Maybe in the distant future when he's managed a few bigger clubs.

He needs to go a similar route as Gerrard.

Hed need a title win in Scandinavia before he should be considered.

This.

He doesn't strike me as having the same grasp on the dressing room as Gerrard but we'll see.

Genuinely would rather have Gerrard right now if we’re going to take a punt on a manager.

It’s time we whipped out the chequebook on a proven winner, and importantly someone who is currently winning. Not pints like Moyes and Ole, nor has-beens like LVG and Mourinho.

Would go for Potter in the punt scenario

Oh I agree, but I was just using Gerrard as an example to show my distaste of the Rooney idea.

Similar to Ole, his name wouldn’t even get a mention if he hadn’t played for the club, same with the Everton links. We already know that having once played for a club doesn’t mean someone will be a good coach.

No, OP, there should be no chance that we should be looking at Wazza as our next manager.

Joking aside, he is said to be impressing, so i wouldn't wouldn't rule it out one day

I mean without the points deduction they'd still only be 17th in the Championship... it's hardly Wagner getting Huddersfield to the PL is it?

It's not just the points deduction to be fair to him, they also can't buy anyone, and almost all of their good players have had to go. They're running on a lot of youth players. They couldn't even afford to keep a 40 year old Jagielka

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not strictly true, the cvnts at the EFL won't let us extend any contracts (Jags was on £4.5K a week - a rate stipulated as a maximum by the same cvnts).

we are not allowed to offer a pro contract to youth players either.

If Wazza keeps Derby up it will be one hell of a good job he has done considering all the obstacles put in front of him.

Agreed although in a way it almost takes pressure off him and the players.

How on earth does it take the pressure off. They are going into every game knowing they could get deducted more points.

If Wayne accomplishes this and gets Derby into the playoffs the following season - my ears would perk up. He deserves to have some ups and downs and a few accomplishments before we give him the job. Otherwise it's Ole II. The Ole debacle hurt a lot - a Wazza debacle would be too much to bear.

I think he means the expectations would have been relegation.
