They will invent a reason, and the people of Ukraine back them, which half do. Then install Ukrainian government that back them
Sanctions will follow but no war

If what you mean is that the Russian speaking Ukrainians identify as Russian, that's far from the truth. Imagine suggesting that the citizens of Ireland who speak English as a first language feel more English than Irish - that's an extreme comparison but underscores the fact that language isn't an automatic indicator of identity.

No, it’s a real term. It means you can go so far into the con you end up painting yourself into a corner and you have to act. For example in wrestling you can have a scripted feud but you can improvise the insults to the point where there is a genuine beef that forms and turns into a shoot (real fight).

With regards to Putin, he might be bluffing but egos and events out of his control might conspire to force his hand in a way it wouldn’t have before.

Yeah, Russia would have greater priorities with their stooge in the white house.

Apparently there’s been more diplomacy in the last few weeks with Russia than the last 30 years. Some people reckon Putin has used the threat of force to get these discussions going. He clearly knows some of his demands will never be met but there are plenty of other issues with regards to security, weapons treaties etc…he could gain something out of

I would hope that’s the case anyway. I just cannot see what Russia would gain from an invasion of Ukraine apart from financial ruin and possibly a lot of dead Russians.

i agree with alot of this

also, what country has started by far the most number of wars since WWII ? certainly not russia

imagine if mexico or france were russian backed countries with russian bases and troops..
how would the USA and GB react to that ?

The west lied about the promise they gave russia post cold war to not have NATO members on russia's borders

you have to see this from russia's point if view also

in a ground war in eastern ukraine, in russia's back yard, it would be the USA and GB who would regret it badly...the Russian's would kick their asssesss

russia is not facking iraq or syria

Ukraine telling the UK and USA to settle down as there is little difference between what is happening now and what happened last summer.

Half the country won’t be able to afford the internet or TV license to see this unfold anyway the way things are heading.

Let’s focus on our own stinking pile it sheet for once instead of poking our noses in others business shall we?
