Knowing Louis he'll beat this and probably with some humour. But I was a bit shocked to find out. Hope it doesn't get the better of him.
Good luck Louis, hope he pulls through. Cancer is a complete basterd
Hope he recovers quickly.
Best wishes too him. Hope he beats it.
Praying for him. Cancer so horrible.
Get well soon LVG
Really sad news
Hated his style of footy at Utd but what a character he was during post match interviews and the touchline
Get well soon LVG.
Would rather he had stayed here longer than us wasting 5 years with Jose/Ole.
I liked LVG as a person great entertainment and god bless to him and his loved ones
Sad news, been enjoying his interviews of late RE United and the WC.
Real decent man, picked on the wrong fella.
Sad news. Hooe he makes a recovery.
Thats awful, hope he’s able to fight it. It’s absolutely heartbreaking that half of us will get some form of cancer in our life.
Poor guy. I hate saying that people ‘fight’ cancer as it suggests that living or dying from it is anything to do with someone’s courage. Cancer is a savage beast no matter how little or how much you ‘fight’ it but if ever someone was the match of cancer it would be LVG. That guy is a straight up boss and I’m sure cancer will be fearing him rather than the other way round. Get well soon LVG 🤞🤞
Sad news. I'm of the opinion he was the only manager we've had since fergie that had the character to pull us out of this mess. But in hindsight we clearly fired him too soon

I disagree as most will but this isn’t the article for a ‘did we fire LVG too soon?’ debate so I’ll leave it at that
Rob
I definitely think that you can ‘fight’ it. My father passed away from it last year, he had an incredibly aggressive form of cancer that he battled for a few months and was even offered some ground breaking treatment but he had to prove he was mentally and physically strong enough to ‘fight’ it with interviews to 2 doctors in London. But obviously there are many variables like any illness and hopefully LVG discovered it early and has all the best available treatment, but I’d say his strong character will help him ‘fight’ it.

I am sorry to hear that. The only reason I’m bringing the ‘fight’ aspect up isn’t to disparage your dad who as you say did fight it but more to state that a lot of the time with cancer the people who die didn’t die from a lack of fight. As that suggests courage has something to do with the outcome. Hopefully LVG gets the very best treatment as you say 👍
Robb you always seem get your knickers in a twist over the smallest things. Fighting cancer is just a saying that is widely used. It hardly needs dissecting.
The English language is full of silly sayings that don't make much sense in isolation really but it's not worth getting annoyed about.
Well well soon Louis. Terrible disease.

I’m not annoyed. I just would hope we move towards a world where we avoid words like ‘fight’ when it comes to cancer. This is a good read for people who want to know where I’m coming from

I’ll leave it there as I don’t wanna hijack the thread anymore 👍

I actually agree with you to a point but it's really not that deep. I don't think anyone is angry if they hear that being said as I truly believe most people understand the sentiment behind it.
Let's hope he beats it too.
The human body tries to ‘fight’ every disease, I can’t see a problem here
I liked Louis. Straight up guy. Let's hope he manages to get better and respond well to his treatment.
Perhaps not really the time to mention it but I wonder if he fancies really laying into the Glazers now. That would be fun.
I’ve suffered from prostate cancer for five years. I’ve had surgery to remove it, but it returned. I’ve subsequently had 39 daily sessions of painful radiotherapy, but again the cancer has returned.
Next on the list for me is chemotherapy. Not looking forward to that.
Still, prostate cancer is one of the slowest growing cancers known to man, so hopefully I will be around for a bit longer.
Best wishes to Van Gaal. Sounds like he’s already had 25 of the standard 39 radiotherapy sessions.
