Joe hart has to be a main contributor.

He could quite easily be our best signing and a strong contender for poty, maybe edged out by calmac

I dont know if I can give the board credit though, as to me they got lucky rather than a skilled pick.

They went for the cheap option but it has paid off big time.

There's the PFA team of the year announced.

Gordon
Juranovic
Carter-Vickers
Souttar
Tavernier
Rogic
McGregor
Jota
Kyogo
Morelos
Charles-Cook

Aribo has had a better season numbers wise than Rogic and Bassey>Juranovic imo but both pretty close so can't complain too much. Usually leans towards the league winners.

Agree with pretty much all of that … but no way I’m having McCarthy as any sort of worthwhile signing. Utter waste of money. By and large our recruitment under Ange has been superb, and I’m also pretty certain he’d nothing to do with the McCarthy move, which had DD all over it.

Souttar? Seriously?!! Hasn’t he missed half the season injured?

As for your signings.

Hart - Annoyingly assured and completely unlike his career thus far. One early howler aside.

Juranovic - Good player

Starfelt - To be targeted as he's got a howler every so often.

Carter-Vickers - Leagues stand out defender this season. Hopefully other teams have been watching because he can play Premier League.

McCarthy - He's got another 5 years left of his deal to come good. Pretty pointless signing.

Ideguchi - Pointless

Hatate - Seems like he blows hot and cold but important early on in swinging the league.

Abada - Great buy, nobody can complain with those numbers.

Jota - Excellent but has tapered off a bit but great loan.

Kyogo - Class.

GG - Has come into it and now looks important. Not seen enough of his game but the fans like him now after writing him off.

Maeda - Energetic headless chicken.

I'd have Abada in the 2nd tier defo mate, I'm not his biggest fan technically he looks terrible at times but his numbers are incredible

yeah i guess , as you say the numbers are great .
His technique is very strange , sometimes he looks awful and devoid of ideas and other times he looks so composed and technical - cant really work him out to be honest
even look at the weekend , comes on - fluffs a shot wide with really poor technique then shows a lovely touch off the throw in for our second goal

Jota...hate to disagree but I'm far from convinced.

He was good on Sunday but that's about the first time he has shown up since January.
That performance will likely get him a start on Sunday but otherwise it would have been Maeda, GG and Kyogo for me.
I'm not interested in watching sand dancing until we're 3 up and I have limited interest in players who take stupid shots when others are better placed.

Souttar was dreadful when we played Hearts - that might have been the cup game though - does that count ?

not seen a great deal of him to say if he should or shouldn't be in

Jota is the kind of player i would like to see Celtic spend a big portion of their budget on.

wow , really ?

unconvinced on Jota ?

and thats not the first time hes shown up since January -
I think back to Aberdeen away - Rangers at home - his cross for the dundee utd late winner
he always works his socks off for the team and i think its only the game at Hampden where he was way below his own levels with some of his decisions

Hearts best players this year have been Souttar and Barrie Mckay.

To those who say he hasnt played enough he has played more games than Jota, same as Juranovic. only a couple less than Callum Mcg and Rogic

first half of the season Jota, yeah, this year he has all the hallmarks of someone who has already agreed a deal elsewhere or back at his own club.

Can see us going to buy Jota as we can and should improve him for a sell on benefit.

And that’s exactly why I don’t think we will buy CCV unfortunately. Can’t see us parting with the thick end of £10m unfortunately. Hope I’m proven wrong of course

it is a big outlay for our league

he would be worth it though - best centre half weve had since VVD . Flawless in almost every game

Yeah Jota pretty much confirmed on sunday he wont sign in his interview.

Refused to commit when asked. He is off which I aint that fussed with as we have cover on that position.

Forrest deserves a run.
