We're basically 14/3 given Crawley is still there
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Called it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No you didn't. We made it to 17/3
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Same again. Fine bowling but the batsmen could do better.

Bairstow struggles against a swinging ball, so this will be a real test for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He especially struggles against balls that are hitting the stumps, so...
How many times have we seen this though?
We spend the morning session bowling short which allows them to score 50+ more runs than they should have, only to be 20/3 in reply because the opposition actually bowl at the stumps.

Not rocket science is it. If you don't bowl at the stumps you're literally just depriving yourself of half the common wicket-taking methods
Normal service resumed for an England top 3 though.
If we had someone like Wood playing I'd actually understand the logic a bit, but not when we're using guys who bowl 80-85mph.
"Ben Stokes jigs down the pitch and launches Southee back down the ground for six.
What on earth is Test cricket about these days?"
Sandy taken over the bbc thread
I get that it's entertaining and the lads are enjoying themselves, but faaaack. Why do Stokes and McCullum think this will work long-term when the entire history of Test cricket (including the very recent Bayliss era) says it won't?
I understand counter attacking but all these attacking shots when we're 40/4 seems incredibly silly personally.
Only takes 1 mistake and we're 1 wicket away from the tail.
Agreed but I think as they have won the series, they don't mind risking it
yeah that and im not sure a lot of the other players no any different
Utterly pathetic from England this
Totally irresponsible from Stokes
Stupidity. Utter stupidity
