Overrated Players: Us + Rivals Assessed

You’ve mentioned overrated then listed a load of players who are not particularly rated that highly

posted on 22/9/22

In my opinion they are all incredibly highly overrated. Arsenal fans rave about Tierney, Chelsea fans Koulibaly etc

Jesus if anything is underrated. He might have "only" scored 4 goals but he along with Zinchenko and Saliba have shaped us into a team that can arguably compete realistically for top 4. But rival fans will keep labelling him as a man city reject.

I have always felt Jesus has been overrated from his City days. Their fans raved about him for years.

You've picked a strange stat to back up your Jesus comment. Might not be Haaland crazy levels but 4 goals in 7 games is not a bad return. All speculation at this point but if he continues at this rate he would in fact hit 20 league goals for the season...

How long did it take for you to compile this list? Think of all the cold calls you could have made in that time. Cash is king.

Why would I bother doing that when I have a team to do it for me. Lol they're all livid because I stopped paying the CRM supplier, it would make auto calls for the team, so the CRM company cut us off and now they have to all make manual calls from handset phones.

Just like the 80's/90's again but hey hey they were the good old days before 14 day cooling off periods etc

Gomez is a sad decline for us. At one point he was England's best defender but those injuries have ruined him.

A lot of Liverpool fans including me want Tsimikas to start ahead of Robbo. He looks like he is out of juice.

Diaz I don't agree with. He is not kick and rush at all. Probably one of the most skillful players in the league. His issue is finishing.

I've been a big Lloris critic over the years and had many disagreements with fellow Spurs supporters about him. For me its not all about the glaring errors or terrible kicking it's more to do with the number of goals where you think "could he not have done a bit better with that"?

A good example of this was when we lost 5-4 at Everton in the cup a couple of seasons ago. None of Evertons 5 goals were goalkeeping howlers but I though he should of saved at least 3 of them.

However last season and this (so far) he has been excellent and seems to be getting better with age, long may it continue.

Yeah I used to rate Gomez, reminded me of Rio, but now he looks finished

Robertson is just in decline

Diaz I don't rate at all he's got no brain IMO

De Bruyne. Hardly scores at all. Bruno got like 20 goals in his first season for us. Did more in a few months than De Bruyne has done in his whole career for City. Anyone can cross a ball into the box. Gary Neville did it all match and he wasn't branded world class like De Bruyne is. De Bruyne is just lucky he has a world class striker in the box to aim his wayward balls at.

Haaland. Essentially just a big lump like Andy Carroll, who also scored loads in his early days in the Prem. If he didn't have world class providers like Cancelo and De Bruyne, then he LITERALLY would not get a single touch all game in every game and he would be branded the biggest flop OF ALL TIME.

United as a team have only scored 8 goals, so Jesus having 4 goals and 3 assists seems quite good in comparison.

He used to get beaten from range too easily for my liking - especially in the Poch years.

However, there is an argument he has been our best player this season, some of the saves have been out of this world and I do t think any goal we have conceded so far could be attributable to him

Culer, I think you have got the wrong players at our club:

Lloris - arguably our best player this season
Davies - I am about the only poster on JA that rates him, if anything he is chronically under rated
Dier - our best player overall since Conte arrived, the transformation has been incredible.

Over rated at Spurs:

Skipp - if we had a signed him from Ajax rather than him progress through the youth system he would get slated. One of those midfielders that doesn’t actually do anything.

Sanchez - the fact that he is still at the club tells me that someone, somewhere over rated him. Utterly terrible in possession and loves a mistake

Spence - the clamour for this guy to start games is insane, it’s based on nothing more than some FA cup appearances for a swashbuckling Forest side last season

Tbf I used to think lloris was overrated but he has been great this season.

Gomez has had real bad luck with injuries and was always a player that needed 10 games to find his best form. I think he's been made a bit of a scapegoat at a time when Liverpool had lots of injuries and the whole team wasn't clicking.

If he played lots of games he'd get back to his best I've no doubt but Matip takes far less games to get upto speed. If he went a whole season either bad form it'd e a bit different but was always going to take Gomez a while to get upto speed. Klopp seemed to play him through necessity knowing he wasn't fully match fit.

Arsenal:

Ben White

Chelsea:

Koulibaly
Most attacking players other than Sterling

City:

Probably Kyle Walker

Liverpool:

Alisson
TAA

United:

Sancho
Ronaldo

Spurs:

Probably their midfield

No player should need 10 games. That is a terrible excuse for the player. He had a great chance with Matip and Ibou out and boy did he struggle. He lost a 50/50 to Bruno Penandes and then just got worse.

I think his days may be numbered, mainly down to injuries and now we don't have a peak VVD to bail him out.

He is obsessed with Allison. Always quick to mention how Allison should have done better for any goal we concede on the match threads

posted on 22/9/22

posted on 22/9/22

okay i forgot how many days in a year hes been out for 806 days
