I remember watching a video with a timeline showing you how long it will take everything to be f-cked from nuclear war, can't find it now.

Basically we will all inevitably die within a relatively short space of time. You're probably better off being right in the middle of it and dying instantly than far out somewhere like Australia where your death will be slow and painful.

I'd open my best bottles, and ponder the meaning of existentialism. Or see what everyone else on ja is doing.

There's a place called the Hidden Valley in Glencoe where the people of Glencoe went to hide from the southerners during the Massacre of Glencoe. They also used to hide stolen cattle there. That's where I'd go. I stuck a Google street view there for you to see.

We’d go to Defcon 1 first which means a nuclear attack is imminent. Right now we’re defcon 3, we moved to 2 during the Cuban missile crisis.

At the point of Defcon 1 I would imagine advice is given to citizens which ultimately probably isn’t going to make much difference and we essentially are under some sort of lockdown until either it gets notched back down or it actually happens.

Whoever fires first essentially destroys the world as we know it, including themselves so it’s unlikely but not impossible should Russia feel that they will be invaded and will therefore take the west down with them.

Now for those who enjoy a good apolcalyptic biblical prophecy of course the bible describes a forthcoming ‘great tribulation’ such as which ‘has not occurred before and will never occur again’ According to the scriptures unless the days were cut short (by Armageddon) then no one would survive it.

So a few possibilities -

we all die from nuclear war except a handful of survivors and the world is never the same.

nuclear disaster is averted but large parts of the world can’t be inhabited due to climate change

nuclear disaster is averted, Putin gets taken out and we pour everything into fixing the climate and it’s just about survivable

The bible was right, we’re in the last days, there was a God after all and he cuts short a Third World War to destroy governments and restore the earth to what it was supposed to be

The UK is a small place, anybody near military bases are pretty much fecked.

I’d like to think NATO are smart enough not to let Ukraine join, if they do, we should be resigned to putting feet on the ground in their war.
