I am surprised Carra did not pull him on that. I can only guess here he did not understand the question because ' currently' that makes zero sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He must have otherwise why include Haaland?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely! The other two I would say definitely the most in formed in the league. Part of me thinks he just wanted to argue with Carra, I don't think he likes him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe. I don’t get his absolute bias towards Ronaldo though. Fair enough they were team mates and I could be wrong but I doubt they are close friends.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you seen his best 11 with Carra. I don't think it is particularly a Ronaldo thing, he is just loyal as he argued in the end all of the players treble side should get in. It was hilarious
Keane loves Ronaldo as he has everything he'd want in a player. Hard work, dedication, sacrifice and a desire to be the best he can be.
As for Haaland he could surpass Ronaldo's record based on his current rate but I don't think he will. That's no slight on Haaland of course but scoring at that rate for over a decade won't be easy. It'd be very unfair for example to call a 30 goal season for him a poor one.

Mbappe not been mentioned in this article too, of course another worthy name to bring in the discussion. He’s 23 and has 213 goals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I personally think the only way he does anything like Messi or Ronaldo’s numbers is by staying in France and if he does it won’t be as credible anyway. Could be wrong of course.

700 pro goals is an incredible achievement and the fact that messi will reach it this season as well is mindblowing.
But as the game continues to advance and improve that record will always be a target to someone
Maradona was a 1 off who would never be matched then zidane came along, zidane was a 1 off who would never be matched then ronaldo and messi came along.
Great players breed great players in the next generation because they act as role models to be matched and bettered
Messi and ronaldo are incredible but theres no reason haaland and mbappe cant surpass their achievements
the key is longevity. Messi and ronaldo have done it so consistently for so long and thats the really impressive thing. but as sports science continues to improve and advance theres no reason that we wont see top players staying at the top of their game into there 40s more regularly and these records will continue to be pushed and challenged
its brilliant to watch

A good take and agreed fully on sports science. Of course not only that humans beings we are getting stronger and faster as time goes on.
I personally don't believe another player hitting these numbers in my lifetime. Zidane was good but he was no Maradona. I don't think I have seen another Maradona to date.
Haaland could quite conceivably blast past the 700 goals Ronaldo has scored. It appears Messi will shortly.
For Haaland he’s such a big guy with an unusual physique my worry for him would be in relation to injuries. He is at a club though that has the resources to dominate (as Real Madrid did with Ronaldo) the domestic league and Pep seems comfortable enough to build/set-up a team to maximise Haalands goal scoring talents.
Great achievement
Just a pity a lot more of those goals weren't scored wearing a UTD shirt
Got bored reading the argument but I'd have to agree with Scholay that the word easy shouldn't have been mentioned anywhere when talking about surpassing what Ronaldo has achieved; conditional tense or not.
Very possible, subject to injuries it might even be probable but easy? Wrong word

Wrong word
