Haaland could quite conceivably blast past the 700 goals Ronaldo has scored. It appears Messi will shortly.
For Haaland he’s such a big guy with an unusual physique my worry for him would be in relation to injuries. He is at a club though that has the resources to dominate (as Real Madrid did with Ronaldo) the domestic league and Pep seems comfortable enough to build/set-up a team to maximise Haalands goal scoring talents.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
fair point on physique and also, we are yet to see if / how Haaland will adapt his game when he gets to 30+ years of age.
Will he adapt his game successfully or will he do a Fernando Torres?
Listening to the OTB Football Podcast which is essentially an Irish daily football Podcast and the presenters made a good point.
They said the higher profile the pundit is, the less likely they are to criticise Ronaldo.
They were referencing Joe Cole & Rio after the Everton which admittedly I didn't see but they were saying that there were quotes such as "this is what he does".
They also made the point that Ronaldo was decent and scoreda good goal but the praise was way OTT.

Praise was OTT, as much as the criticisms were. I think the praise was wrapped up in the fact that it was his seven hundredth club goal. A number most professional footballers don’t reach in terms of appearances, let alone goals.
This is a guy who:
Lost his father whilst playing in the WC
Lost his newborn son
Sold his golden boot to help Iraqi orphans
Has been labelled ‘Penaldo’
Got a ‘career ending’ injury in 2013 which forced him to change his play style
Gets hate for scoring goals (I don’t mean right now or you Process)

Got bored reading the argument but I'd have to agree with Scholay that the word easy shouldn't have been mentioned anywhere when talking about surpassing what Ronaldo has achieved; conditional tense or not.
Very possible, subject to injuries it might even be probable but easy? Wrong word
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am now accustomed to this behaviour from Elvis and VC. It is tiresome. Anyone with an ounce of sense can’t be using words like easily surpass even if stating if he carries his current form. State the bloody obvious, simple maths dictates that.

GOAL CELEBRATION EXPLAINED
We can now reveal that Ronaldo’s celebration was a self-deprecating in-joke with his fellow team-mates, highlighting the strong bonds among the players in Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Of course, Cristiano is renowned for looking after himself and ensuring he is always in the best possible condition, which naturally involves hours of hard work on the training pitch and in the gym.
It also includes resting at the right moments and ensuring he has enough sleep to aid his recovery: it has previously been reported that Ronaldo naps several times a day!
CR7’s celebration at Everton was amusingly a nod to the position in which he sleeps when travelling with the squad, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by his team-mates who are all eager to learn from him.

Honestly, that has got to be the best opportunity for young players. I don't think Ronaldo is anything like as bad as some people think. He's just dedicated to the extreme, I wouldn't be mates with him because he's way too extra AF but that's what's made him the GOAT/joint GOAT.

Got bored reading the argument but I'd have to agree with Scholay that the word easy shouldn't have been mentioned anywhere when talking about surpassing what Ronaldo has achieved; conditional tense or not.
Very possible, subject to injuries it might even be probable but easy? Wrong word
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one said it was easy. What Elvis said was that if Haaland kept up his current rate he could easily break 700 relatively speaking.
Nothing really shocking there as it adds up.

If say UWW said this, you would attack him and say something along the lines of that's bloody obvious.
Maintaining that level is the part wherein there is nothing easy.
We have moved on, i suggest you do the same

I just don’t think it was the right word to use as the IF he is talking about is keeping fit and firing at the rate he is now for the next 15+ years and this equalling or beating the records that Ronaldo & Messi have been setting.
I just think it would have been much better to say that it would be possible as it adds up rather than saying he could surpass him quite easily.
Perhaps we’re being a bit fussy about the language used but I won’t debate it for pages and pages, it’s just not a word that I would use with regards to this topic. It’s probably one of the last words I would use in fact.

This ultimately!!! I read back at it and thought to myself did I really waste my time here debating this.
What he stated was pointless in my eyes. Simple maths dictates this is the case, and I am sure we will see another player scoring at a rate better than Ronaldo at 23/24. I find it foolish to mention the fact if this player maintains this from he could " quite easily" surpass Ronaldo knowing exactly what the journey entails to get to 700 goals.

Out of interest does anyone know what was the story with his goal celebration with Antony
----------------------------------------------------------------------
GOAL CELEBRATION EXPLAINED
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheers Sat Nav
Unsurprising that tales of dressing room discontent are possibly exaggerated if not bullshizit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that’s what I thought.
Especially the reports of shouting during HT when we’re getting fked by City. I’d be much more concerned if there was no shouting!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Interesting this isn't it. If our players cannot learn from Ronaldo, we are in trouble
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly, that has got to be the best opportunity for young players. I don't think Ronaldo is anything like as bad as some people think. He's just dedicated to the extreme, I wouldn't be mates with him because he's way too extra AF but that's what's made him the GOAT/joint GOAT.

Spot on.
Look at Jordan, I wouldn’t want that guy anywhere near me as a friend. But to be a GOAT, something has to give. If anyone thinks Messi is just all smiles and humble guy, I suggest they wake up

No, I would not because I understand the meaning in words.
If Nohlman says things I agree with I will say so as I do with you.

No one has argued this.

It is more about understanding context and other words that are used. In this instance Elvis used if and could and relatively speaking.

He used relatively speaking to differentiate time and feat. Still very lost but we move
