Anyone on here have any famous/semi famous relations?

Don Givens is a 3rd cousin of mine but I've never met him. Played 8 times for United and went on to have a very decent career.

Ex QPR striker Kevin Gallen is a second cousin as are his Brothers obviously who were both also pro players

met Vinnie Jones in the VIP bar at De Niros nightclub in newmarket... came in with his mrs and some guy... we got chatting with him ( as you do as a 17 year old kid) and he asked if he could buy us a drink... his mare pulled out a 6 inch wad of folded notes and stuck a shed load behind the bar under Vinnies instruction of " these lads do not buy another drink all night"

the guy was a top bloke and sat with us for about 4 hours getting smashed

My great uncle married Ji Sung Park's grandma, hence my username (very tenuous, i know!). What's funny is that the same great uncle is also Danny Graham's granddad... So he had two grandsons (kind of) playing in the PL at the same time.

I wouldn't just randomly begin talking to somebody I don't know personally so haven't really spoken to any celebs. Once sat on a table next to Katie Melua, at an airport in Kutaisi, Georgia and she got on the same plane, into Luton. Difficult to imagine a multi-millionaire slumbing in on that crap plane but the journey from Batumi, where she is from to Tbilisi is worse, several hours on crap roads, so I can understand it.

Off the top of my head, was at a cousins wedding several years ago and went out for a smoke, Keith Gillespie and Gary Hamilton, who were both playing for Glentoran at the time, Gary Hamilton now manages Glenavon I think, appeared next to me. Can't remember how the conversation started, I think I asked for a light. Gary Hamilton then played the 'do you know who I am?' card. I knew who he was but I said no idea but this guy is a legend, whilst looking at Gillespie. Gillespie had a right laugh at him, he was furious and walked away.

Can't stand the "do you know who I am?" line. TBH I've no idea who Gary Hamilton is.

David May stood right in front of me in the away end vs Derby County watching us in the FA cup and ate a chicken balti pie just after I'd got back from having a beer at HT after being unable to buy a pie as they'd ran out. Hated him for about 15 minutes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a pretty surreal David May experience. Nearly 20 years ago, I walked into Zara and saw I guy I recognised. He was standing in the queue looking over at me as if he knew me and was about to let on. It took me a couple of seconds to place him and then I realised it was none other than David May. For reasons I’ll never know, he seemed to have recognised me first

All I can assume is that I looked like someone he knew and he was wondering whether to speak to me.

Most people from Belfast wouldn't know who he is, nevermind anybody from outside it and yet he played that card.

Once saw John Terry at Chesington. I spotted him, stared like you do and he stared back. My son being a Chelsea fan wanted an autograph but my wife said to leave him alone as he was with his family. Anyway he won a massive teddy bear on some stall and gave it his son, who then came over and offered it to my son. My son said no thanks but I’d like to think JT offered it because we didn’t hassle him. Who knows but it was a nice thing to do!

Saw a bald guy hacking round Betws y Coed golf club on his own back in 2007. Invited him to play with us and it was Mickey Thomas. Decent guy and chatty about how poor his golf was. Said he's sort out my West Ham supporting mate with 'tickets from Bellers'. He never did!

His son runs a gym in town and is a rabid anti-vaxxer! Mickey was born where I live and lives in the area but I've never seen him since. Do see his posts on social media walking places I sometimes take the dog. Maybe he's avoiding me so he doesn't have to give me the tickets!

Oh sat at a table in a restaurant with my wife and Carl Frampton and his wife came in and were seated at the table next to us. The restaurant is separated from the pub by the actual bar but the staff can walk from one to the other through it. This is also the case for the regulars who know the staff.

Couple of people walked through and got Frampton's autograph and you could see his wife being annoyed. Later another guy walked through on the phone and asked Frampton to speak to his son. Frampton duly obliged. Always thought he was a great guy and this confirmed it as many others would have told him to do one, as he's trying to enjoy his meal. However this developed into an argument with his nasty wife. She started having a go at Frampton for doing it. Frampton kept asking her what was he supposed to do when a kid is on the phone and saying it wasn't a problem. She said he should have told the guy to do one(in stronger terms). They spent the rest of the time arguing.

A real nasty piece of work she is.

Not saying his wife was right and fair play to Carl for obliging but people should be left alone when having a meal.

I once saw Gary Hopper in 3 steps to heaven in Glasgow - which was an ice cream/confectionary shop, not, I repeat, not a brothel/massage parlour.

Anyway no real story, I literally saw him there eating an ice cream but did not interact. I did think it odd though, he was playing for Celtic at that time and yet here he was eating a bloody big ice cream during the season.

Paolo Di Canio

We went on a school trip in primary school to West Ham’s training ground, watched them train then after, every single player came out to sign stuff or say hello, except Di Canio just drove straight past everyone in his Porsche or Aston Martin other than once to beep for one of the players to get out his way

Khunt
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually had a really good experience with Di Canio. When he and Carboni were at Wednesday I was over with a soccer school to watch them play West Ham, all the other lads were at the exit waiting on autographs but me and another lad decided to go for a sneak around and managed to get back into the stadium through the big gap in the stands. We were walking down when Kevin Pressman, Di Canio and Carboni came the other way and all 3 couldn’t be nicer, I was a goalkeeper and Pressman gave me a pair of gloves and Di Canio and Carboni walked us to their cars chatting (in not great English) then signed autographs and left.

Also partied with Fergie and Will.i.am from black eyed peas when I was at uni back when they were just getting big. Both really sound and a good laugh.

Mike Hooper was a bit of d!ck when I asked for his autograph as a kid but other than that they have all been sound (not that I have met that many).

Gotta say Shane Warne was the best Robb.

At Kent vs Australia in a pre-ashes game they let the kids go on the grass during lunch. I had broken my arm and all the Aussies (who were fielding) were rude as fvck but it was a great side so I wanted the autographs.

Warne saw this, came over, signed my pot and scorecard and posed for a photo. I still have that bit of plaster and scorecard.

Top bloke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a similar experience with Shane Warne. When he played for Hampshire I went to a game at Edgbaston. After the game I waited with about 100 other kids by the players entrance.

Robin Smith came out, breezed past everyone, brought his car round and sat waiting for Shane to come out. Warne came out, told us all to line up out of the way and he'll sign all the autographs. We all though he was going to drop his kit in the boot, jump in the car and drive off.

He dropped the kit in the boot, turned round and signed every autograph and spoke to every kid. All while Robin Smith sat in the car looking angry.

Adding to the pile of Shane Warne, great guy stories - met him, Ian Healy and a bowler who I didn't know out when I was about 19. They were really nice fellas. All p*ssed at the time but endlessly tolerant of a bunch of kids who were equally beered up.

Never had any really bad experiences. Was with Linford Christie for an afternoon at a corporate event and it was just really hard work having any kind of conversation. His wife was lovely but he just came across as a really shy person. Ditto Thom Yorke - met him in a bar and tried a brief conversation but it was pretty clear he felt really awkward so I just said "nice to have met you" and left him to it.

Robb, I know a lad that used to be in a band with Ian Watkins before they formed LP. I think that he said the band was called Fleshbind? He was at school with him/same group of mates and has a kid with Watkins' sister. So Watkins is his son's uncle.
