I once saw Gary Hopper in 3 steps to heaven in Glasgow - which was an ice cream/confectionary shop, not, I repeat, not a brothel/massage parlour.
Anyway no real story, I literally saw him there eating an ice cream but did not interact. I did think it odd though, he was playing for Celtic at that time and yet here he was eating a bloody big ice cream during the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On a similar note, I once saw Eric Pollard in Majestic's night club in Leeds.
Oh, and I saw Henry Warton absolutely off hits box at Mint club in Leeds. Asked him if he wanted to get in my belly button. He politely declined.

I don’t know this reference what is it please
Met a few celebs, and git to say none of them were rude.
Spoke to some of them, but not all.
Seen Liam Gallager in Chester, but didn’t approach him.
Seen the lead singer of Jamiriquai (can’t remember his name now) in a pub in Ayelsbury. Didn’t speak to him either, but he was mixing well with the other customers.
Met Anneka Rice in France whilst on a school trip as a kid. Really nice and signed autographs.
Met and talked to Mark Hughes in a store opening in Ruthin. We were linked to Paul Ince at the time. I asked if he was signing for us, and he just glared at me.
By far the nicest celeb I have ever met was David Jason in Theatr Gwynedd many years ago. Actually spoke to him for well over an hour. Thoroughly nice man.

He really was. He was watching his partner Myfanwy Talog perform in a show. I was dating the wardrobe mistress at the time. He spent most of the interval chatting with me (was a very small crowd that night) and then had a drink and a chat with the production staff after the performance.
He had time fir everybody, and actually seemed to enjoy having a “normal” chat with people. Fantastic bloke.
In September 2001 I was in the 'Square' pub in Manchester and who should be stood beside me was Tina O'Brien of Sarah Platt Corrie fame
"Hang on, I thought to myself. She's only 17 in real life. I should probably tell someone". However, as I couldn't find anyone to tell I went back to my drink.
What's funny is that it's lucky I didn't say anything as years later, when recounting that story, I checked and she'd just turned 18 the previous month. Egg on face truly averted! I still laugh now at how close I came to making a national fool of myself!

David Jason used to live close to where I grew up (might still do, not sure) but my mum used to work in a doctors surgery - David Jason came in and apparently was as unassuming and charming as you can possibly imagine. A genuinely lovely bloke.
Flip side of the coin, John Craven (for those of you who remember newsround) also lived close by and was an utter w@nker. Rude to everyone, insisted nobody speak to him other than the doctor. Got really angry when one woman (who had no idea who he was) sat next to him.
Based on attitude, you'd never think that David Jason was the big star!

A lot of the time in these stories it's the medium to small sized star that's the biggest idiot. We need a graph really though to show it.

Being a 'star' is no excuse for being a prat but being a star allows prats to be prats if that makes sense.
Was in a club once and Sophie Ellis Bextor was promoting her Groovejet song.
When she'd finished she came upstairs onto the balcony and was walking towards me. She was waving at me, so I nudged my mate and said 'I think I'm in here'. She continued walking towards me and waved again. Then all of a sudden a bouncer came from nowhere, put his hand in my face and shoved me out of the way.
Apparently I was stood in front of the fire exit which she was using to leave the building.
The queen.
I knelt on one knee as you are supposed to but then someone handed her a sword and she started threateningly placing it on both my shoulders. I quickly got up and got out of there.
Not one of mine but my work friend/colleague knows the Twilight actor Robert Pattinson. Years ago he and his wife was out in London with him, Sienna Miller (and boyfriend) and a few other people. During the night Sienna showed my friend some texts she'd being getting from a very famous married footballer asking for well, you know!

Good old Giggsy.
If we're getting into second-hand celebrity anecdotes:
My sister's friend worked at Madam Tussauds, and got to meet all of the celebrities she was recreating in wax. Apparently Kylie Minogue was by far the nicest, most down to earth.
Have also heard that Danny DeVito is totally lovely and unassuming.
Which goes to show that not all little people have a chip on their shoulder.

It wasn't him!
Cilla Black. Was a right "dont you know who I am" merchant.
Apparently Lee Hendrie used to use the 'don't you know who I am' at bars in Tamworth back in the day.
Some of the posts have reminded me if a couple of others.
Rhys Ifans. Nice enough bloke, but a bit bonkers.
Actually met him on a few occasions. His parents live next door to my sister in law’s inlaws (hope that makes sense). Also met him, but didn’t talk, in Portmeirion, with whom I now know to be Sienna Miller.
King Charles (then Prince). I won’t go to any detail here, I don’t want to derail the thread.

I had a drunken conversation in a Manchester nightclub circa 1995. The story went that someone was giving it large to Ryan Giggs, in the very same nightclub's toilets. Giggs had responded by pulling out his wallet, taking a £50 note (or a wad of tens, I really can't remember) and producing his cigarette lighter, burning the money, and making some pithy comment about how much richer he was than his assailant. The narrator of this story saw this as an awesome sign of Giggs's class, but from that day I always had a suspicion he might be a bit of a douchebag.

Good ol David, what a legend. Nice to hear he is actually as charming as he seems.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He really was.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
David Jason used to live close to where I grew up (might still do, not sure) but my mum used to work in a doctors surgery - David Jason came in and apparently was as unassuming and charming as you can possibly imagine.
