I gave up that season when Michone left. It never recovered after Rick.

Yeah it started well but then went a bit over the top. Just like the Negan series.

Who is your favourite bird from the series?

Rosita just shades it for me.

Rosita for looks, Maggie for that voice and something about her. Love that southern accent.

I was so glad when Lori died !

I'd say the end of season 6 beginning of 7 was where it just went downhill for me, i know that point was just the beginning of the Negan arc but i quite liked the part up to where they moved in to Alexandria

they massively extended the gaps between the main story lines. AMC made them do it same as most tv shows that end up doing far better than expected.

They could have quite easily condensed it by about 3 seasons

yeah I even thought them killing Glen and Abe was fine, a few needed to go, Sasha included. but killing Carl off and then Rick leaving (I know he wanted to do other things in life) I thought nah not gonna follow this anymore. I always thought the show should finish with Rick dying and Carl being the last man standing so to speak but it just couldnt hold my interest after those two departed

I recently jumped back in and rewatched the whisperer arc, it has been pretty rubbish but me and my wife got up to date until this final season began, all i can remember is a new lady wearing bright pink maybe? and something about a new group or area

they kinda had to . in the comics its prob the most memorable part. they couldnt mess the fans about that much. they did deviate quite a lot in the comics and tv.

Would be quite amusing if eugene died off screen with no drama, no real reference to it, he’s a truly insufferable character.

I’ve liked princess the most recent season but they’ve not really put much effort into fleshing her story out, which is a shame as there’s complexities there that are only briefly touched on.

Eugene is great character !!

absolute buffoon who is prob the smartest guy of them all. He is the one guy that is truly awkward in this world, I thikn he has been quite heavily involved in the stories since his introduction,

It hasnt been shown as much in the tv shows but he has been absolutely crucial to the group. He basically is in charge of creating and maintaining arms and munitions.

I’ve got no time for his faux intellect. And the lame love story with your one who was fake but then the real one too. He’s boring and whiney in a way that I just can’t abide.

I wouldnt say it faux, he is a basic scientist and has shown plenty of times that he can put that intelligence into practice. He was even more pronounced in his roles in the comics however. He led the train project that ended up saving everyone, he basically unites civilisations all over USA.

Maybe they involve him more in the future in the spin offs they might still kill him though cos the people that live in die comparing the comic and tv is very different.

Aye I’m basing it purely off tv show.

I think Jeffrey dean morgan has done stellar work with Negan over the years, making him much more 3D than a lot of the characters. It does fell in general just a really broad list of characters and there’s loads I’m just not bothered about. What they’ve missed this season is any real buildup to the commonwealth being this big bad. Pamela Milton is “meh” for me and it’s a shame they killed off Hornsby as he had some fun in his character.

JDM absolutely nailed Negan, he without doubt has stolen the show more so since Rick left.

They rushed the ending cos so did Kirkman in the comics. One day he just decided he was done with it and ended it !

I also think they have held back a lot in the Commonweatlth and Pamela for extra content in the spin offs. Cause they veered away from the ending that the comics got.

I've watched this far so I'll watch to the end, no idea about the spin-offs though, although I do wanna know what Rick is upto.

It's been a very frustrating series for a long time, some great ideas and moments amongst it but generally the cast has become bloated and that has led to so many boring episodes and threads that lead nowhere.

I can't imagine this finale will really have any jeopardy or be satisfying

I actually quite liked the ending, but it felt totally out of place with the rest of the series and I knew about all the spin-offs that were being set up.

I mean some of it was really stupid, but my expectations were for something worse than the GOT finale.

Anyway, you can go for Andor now

I thought Rosita's death was completely irrelevant, stupid. Purely did it to create some sorta worthwhile event in an episode in which not a lot actually happened.

They started off the the whole last season very slowly and then speeded up all the events in the last 3 episodes ... so badly written. The series of events with the Commonwealth and Pamelas demise was so quick, rushed, unexplained etc.

Well, I don't think her death was completely stupid, but the manner of it was.

I mostly agree though, I don't have a problem with any of the stuff that happened this episode but I agree the pacing was a huge issue, which is true for the entire series.

The whole way through we've had interesting ideas poorly implemented as we watch boring stuff happen on screen, while other stuff happens off screen.

her death just seems to me to have been put in there to create some emotion. not for any plot value. It seemed massively forced and cheap.

without going into the writing which was extremely poor.

Just the plot of having her die to try and create something of note happening in the end. Cos nothing really did , nothing they havent already faced and dealt with before IMO.
