Where's their Christmas spirit, am I right?!
Where is their integrity?
I fully back their right to campaign for better conditions for themselves and their patients. They can't go on like they are. They're only human and when you push people too far they make mistakes.
Behind them 100% with their strike action

Agreed! Also, with teachers, if and when they strike!
Do you ever shut your dirty facking mouth you snivelling Tory piece of filth
The reality is, the NHS is a failing system, and not just for nurses.
Increasing nurse's pay (and an already tidy pension package) by 18% only makes conditions for nurses and patients worse.
Unions aren't doing a very good job of protecting their members, in fact they're pishing the public off by asking for ludicrous increases.
My respect for Goadocwatson has just gone.

Why is it ludicrous? They've had real terms cuts for years, even before all the Brexit Covid and Russia $hite.

And yet all the polls point to support for all the public workers striking, including rail staff. Good old dopey Tory rhetoric from Busby.
If they were paid a decent wage in the first place they would'nt have to strike.
Yet these leachy Mp's get an absolute fortune + expenses for fack all.

Of course people are having cuts "real term".
Who do you think is going to pay for furlough, funding a war in Ukraine and a crashing economy?
This is what happens, you print money, the currency devalues and the middle class lose out.
This isn't new. You think the rest of the NHS, public services and even many in the private sectors aren't worse off now than they were 5 years ago?
People want socialism but don't understand it doesn't allow for property.
If I met you in a pub I would chin you
Surely the banks will be willing to accept a round of applause in lieu of mortgage payments
why is it worse at this time of year to strike, anyway?
Anyone who blames the nurses and not the governmental structure and decision making that has led to double digit inflation while slashing NHS funding is, frankly, a moron that is told what to think.
Nurses aren't the middle class, a third of them are living off of food banks. And this issue has been going on far longer than the start of the Ukraine war or even Covid. You Tory c-nt.
The NHS is simultaneously the most wonderful and the most shambolic organisation.
Wonderful as, at its best, it provides care with no prejudice.
Shambolic because it's run terribly and it's only really the goodwill of the ground floor staff who are keeping it going.
There's only so much you can expect people to do when they have their own stresses and worries, not to mention working unpaid overtime and going above and beyond. Give them the right conditions and pay and I'd predict that in a few years the NHS would cost us less.

I know 2 nurses, they certainly don't live off food banks. The average nurse salary is about in line with the national average.
I guess it depends on your banding, but even a home with 2 entry level nurses takes home a combined £54k (£66k within 3 years).
It isn't a bad salary, considering the good pension, bursary for education, job stability, great maternity.
Working conditions I can sympathise with, but then, I'm of the opinion the NHS is probably past saving.

NHS isn't going to fixed by handing out a few pay rises and improving working conditions. It's a mess.

If the GVT havent got anymore money to pay wages rises for the nurses we have still got and as there are 40000 nurses vacancies how are they not only going to attract and then pay for the nurses they need to fill the ranks and also retain the ones we have that most will almost certainly leave if they dont get an acceptable payrise
