Simple truth is.... Spurs are basically playing with a "caretaker" manager at the helm !!! I Conte appears not show any emotion on the sidelines or have anything to offer other than excuses and the players don't appear to be making any effort as nobody knows where they stand.

The decision to appoint Conte as a manager was an appalling one by a management team that has no clue what's its doing.

Regardless of the result tomorrow, a 3 year contract needs to put in front of Conte today and if it's not signed by the end of the week.... His firing will be announced on Sat @ 9am.... The club needs to move on from this embarrassing mess

What's gogin on with the title of this article OP?

If he loses to Palace...it has nothing to do with being backed or not. Our existing squad should be able to beat Palace as well as Villa (at home).

A loss is more of an indication of how the current players known he doesn't want them and don't want to pkay for him anymore.

As I said last season. The motivation for a player to qualify for champs league knowing they will be upgraded affects different weal minded players

A full strength Spurs team would be able to win away at Palace but this includes Bentancur and Kulu. I sort of get what Conte says about not having the players cause with a few of these key guys out we look abject. It's still no excuse for the way we start games, and we're also not helped by certain players clearly playing below their means - Bissouma, Son.

Without Kulu and Bentancur I'm not expecting much tomorrow.

That's a massively under rated point tbh. I never gave that much thought. It's strange, as I feel a manager like potch could could more from them players but saying that I do think Conte is generally the better manager.

Maybe it's a mixture of uncertainty for the players starting next year and Conte just not giving off vibes he will be around. He def cut a more frustrated figure at the start of his reign so I'm making an assumption there.

Agree with pretty much all of the above. Just gutted like the rest of you all as I thought from the end of last we would kick on but we have now gonebackwards its going to be very diffcult to recover anything from this season now.

1. Players are dis-interested again.
2. To many not playing at the the consistenbt level they should be week in week out.
3. To many of them get niggly injuries -----nothing new for us here.
4. Manager seems to have given up and it appears the players know it.
5. Once a gain as a club we seem to have an distinct inability to get any of our promissing youth on the pitch ever.... that very depressing and worrying too.

If Conte feels that the club hasn't backed or attempted to back him during this transfer window then he should walk because if he doesn’t the uncertainty just rumbles on to the end of the season.

Of course if we don't start scoring first in games Levy may take the decision out of his hands.

It's got that mourinho vibe of some players just dreading taking a risk or making an error as it could be their last game.

Spence came on the other game for a few minutes and genuinely looked frustrated before he even kicked a ball, cos the crowd cheered him coming on. That signing asks a few questions, if it continues the whole season.

Finally, an article with a few sane comments.

Just like the Jose era, the players are playing with fear. There's no bravery on the ball. No one is willing to take the risk with a defence splitting pass or attempt to carry the ball to bring the team further up the pitch. You know why? It's safer to pass to someone else. It's what happens when your confidence is shot to pieces when your manager has a preferred 11, ostracises everyone else and wonders why, when they do come in, they don't have the confidence to perform. A good manager gets a squad onside and makes those on the periphery feel like a million dollars. It's amazing what you can get from players that feel wanted.

I can't tell you how similar this is to Jose. He's not calling out individuals like Jose did but he is pretty much saying that most of that squad can't cut it.

Thoughts?

Conte out
Levy out.
ENIC out.

I'm starting to get that feeling I had at the end of Mourinho's time at Spurs where I wonder how we can even score a goal let alone win a game.

Conte's sacking is inevitable I feel so the sooner the better really, it's damage limitation to help us avoid dropping even more PL points and potentially getting knocked out of the FA Cup.

That's why I'm perversely hoping for a Palace win tomorrow. I've never done that in my Spurs supporting life but I just can't get on board with Conte. It's kinder to finish it off now and turn the ship around. Seeing it drag on could mean wasting millions in the transfer market for a man that won't be here in a few months.

I think a draw is the worst possible result tomorrow. Not bad enough to get Conte sacked but still 2 points dropped.

Taking away all club bias & overhyping our own players... Spurs are playing like a team who are not playing for the manager while the manager looks more interested in defending his own reputation, making excuses and looking for the easiest way out if he doesn't get what he wants. As we all know the bigger issue is ENIC and levy but nothing is changing there.. as many have said, this has Jose Mk2 written all over it both in terms of the style of play but the way the players appear frozen with fear if they cannot adapt to what is an ugly, pragmatic style of play adopted by a manager who can only succeed with top level players and endless funds.

The responsibility lays with players, manager and ownership .....sadly it's only the later who now appear to be able to do anything about it..... BUT as we all know, having a winning team is a long way down their list of priorities... behind revenue, saving face, focus of the stadium/ real estate development and not overpaying for anything

This club is built on paper foundations with Enic in Charge..... Been saying it for 18 months... Our day of reckoning is just around the corner.. It was only ever a matter of time & it's gonna be ugly

Just for the record, I hope we stuff palace and some of these nutters go back into hiding for a while and let Conte get on with it.

Should Conte be sacked this week we all know Poch will be the favourite. But who else is in the running other than Tooshay Turtle (Tuchell) I can't honestly think of anyone else.

Can't stand Brendan Rogers......he's so slimey.

Arsenal at home and the City games are usually decent ones for us but does feel theyre coming at the right time for the opposition this time

never ever want us to lose even though I may have considered it on occasion or thought it.......Always want us to win every game we play regarldless how shat or good we are at the time........ 1-0 or 10-0 dont care

If you can't understand why I've come to that conclusion for the greater good of the club then there's no hope. Conte will be leaving us, I'm certain of it, but I'd rather that death were quick and over with than drawn out with more time and funds wasted.

I would give Marcelo Gallardo a serious look. He left River Plate after a successful stint with them.

The Karen’s are.

Talking like Palace aren’t a decent side that Poch also lost away to.

If Levy is going to sack Conte because he isn’t going to be around long term then why wait until after the game tomorrow - why didn’t they do it during the World Cup break.

The answer is because Levy couldn’t find his Aris with his own hands
