“ The scrutiny over that relationship has intensified amid reports that several Chelsea players could be on their way to Saudi clubs owned by the PIF.”
Surely they are considered part owner in Chelsea then, and in breach of Premier League ownership rules.
Chelsea keep finding loopholes
How long before we find out Neves is owner of Wolves and major shareholder in PIF 😄

They have billions under management by Clearlake so you would have to say there’s a degree of influence. They’re not considered owners but they’re plainly contributing to Chelsea clearing their FFP issues. I wonder if this is why Chelsea spent so much in the last two windows, because they knew this was coming. Apparently the Saudis are also interested in Aubameyang and Lukaku. So that’s six players. Kante on a free but I bet you anything the fees for the other five will be inflated.

Yeah that part if very strange, surprised the PL didn't check the source of investment before allowing him to buy Chelsea.
However, if they've nothing to do with the Saudi clubs I don't really get the link, other than being from Saudi.

Yes, they own four of the clubs.
PFI invest heavily with Clearlake.
Clearlake buy Chelsea.
Chelsea sell players to PFI owned clubs.
PFI's investment in Chelsea benefits from PFI owned clubs buying unwanted Chelsea players.
How long before Newcaslte get £100m bid from Saudi for Longstaff???
Football authorities need to close off all these related ownership options
Saudi clearly operate in a fashion where money is no object. They are paying Benzema, a 35 year old, $100m a year to play football.
That sort of money would not make sense in the richest league in the world (PL) . It is not about economic viability for them its about profile & PR.
Therefore they are very easily in a position where they will over pay for players in order to benefit their European football ownership, to help balance teh books and fund spending...not creating inflated sponsor revenues but manipulating revenues through sale of players.
PIF already own Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ahli and Al Ittihad. So if players start going here for bonkers fees then dont be surprised.
Football world needs to wake up and sort this out. Its another threat to the fair play, stability and integrity of the European leagues and just yet another way that these Arabic states look circumvent the rules
Wonder what will happen if Qatar own both PSG and Utd… it’s all a bit sketchy isn’t it?
